I was born in Alva, and left it in 1963, and have been back only a few times. Now aged 76, I have been thinking of one final visit - but I do not like the changes : that is normal for us mortals, who crave that precious things will not change!
@@williamdavidson1456 Yes, I remember the Games from my youth! And I’ll look at your recordings of the recent Games! Many thanks! When I was young, I spent many happy hours - and days - and nights - in the hills above and beyond Alva : I could run up them then, but I could’nt slide down them now!
I remember also the visit to Alva of the late Queen : I was standing by the entrance to the Cochran Hall, and I saw her very close and very clearly in her big motor!
And I remember that the Cochrane Park and Hall used to be filled annually with Scottish (and other?) Italians. I wonder whether that gathering still takes place?

alex did you ever go to Alva games on my channel i recorded the games 2022 and 2023 for people to see who couldnt be there
