  • I was pleasantly surprised by these products!
    First, let's go over it from the start.
    LOVED it came all in one box. No figuring out what which film goes with which powder. LOVED the easy instructions on the box as well as on their TH-cam channel (@kasyucraft)
    This was such an easy peel! So satisfying. Colors came out great. I will post a short when it's washed about 5 times.
    Highly recommend this kit - Get it here!
    (It's on sale at the time of posting this video)

    Hi Stacy, I just tried this DTF Hack Kit this week with both my 2 Sublimation printers and my inkjet I was floored by the hack results on the 90% cotton Gildan shirt I cut up to use. I did multiple test prints and found the sublimation printers printed more vividly than the inkjet, but the inkjet did a good job too. I have the converted Epson 7710 and the smaller Epson 2720 sub-printers. I used my smaller Pink Siser 9 x12 heat press to both cure and press!
    I absolutely love the results of using this product hack, it feels and looks more professional to me than even the single sublimation press! I had tried the DTV Siser but did not like having to cut the contour vinyl, purchase a mask to transfer, and especially the high price per sheet. I was hoping this hack would give me a better option, and thanks to this tutorial I purchase the Kit and tried it on a sample shirt in sections, then on a few shirts. It is definitely a game-changer!

      I absolutely LOVE your comment. I am floored by the amazing results the hack gives. I've been so happy :) I am so glad it is working out for you.

      I have seen others use inkjet as well with good results but most of the colour washed out except for black. The black ink on its own is a good hack for inkjet though because the black is pigment ink in most cases and it'snot going anywhere. If you're wanting to get the image on a dark fabric, it works with regular white htv, (with sublimation ink), but you're still going to have to cut an offset layer which can be annoying. I tried white htv with another layer of sublimation vinyl and sublimated regular process (not dtf film) on that shirt, but it was so thick with the 2 layers of htv. I didn't like it, but it came out nice. That's why I like this hack for dark shirts because it's one less layer if you don't have white ink.

    Hello, great video. .thanks for sharing your error. I purchased this kit from Amazon 2 weeks ago. I was going to send it back after reading that once you place the powder on you put it in the oven or use the cricut press. I have a 15x15 heat press and was elated to see how you utilized it with this product. The finished product was beautiful and vibrant.
    I also loved the Bella Canvas female V neck tee shirt that you put the product on . I have purchased many female V neck tee shirts for my business. The V in the tee shirt is always too low. I love the length of the V neck on the Bella Canvas tee shirt and the 1 -2 inch underlay binding of the V.
    Again great simple video

    Not sure if you have a griddle, but I cure my prints on my griddle at 385 for 1 minute and they are perfect. I put down a piece of parchment paper then lay my transfer over that. I use tweezers to pick up my image once done. I was amazed to see how quick my griddle cured it. I also saw another hack saying you could print on parchment paper.

    • @stacyodesigns
      @stacyodesigns  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have heard about the griddle option and it looks very effective. Sadly, I do not have one. I've been meaning to look into it though. Thank you.
      As for the parchment printing - I haven't heard that. Sounds interesting. I'll have to explore that. Thank you.

      My personal experience is that 120 seconds did not melt the powder for me. I just kept it under a hovering press until it melted. However, it could have been my platen was high. But I kinda like the low and slow method for evenness.

    The printer that you’re using is it sublimation ink? Or did you have to converted to sublimation ink?

      It was originally a regular off the shelf printer that I replaced with refillable cartridges using sublimation ink. So, yes, it is converted.

      Those are roller marks. This is the number one issue people have with the hack. Due to the film not being absorbent like paper is, the ink sits on top, and the rollers drag that ink along the page. Here is a video of some troubleshooting tips you can try to fix the issue.

      This is not true. The 'hack' is utilized for the use on cotton. As for color, it still has the sublimation properties. If you want to do this on black, you could press onto HTV. Of take a look at one of my videos on Siser Easy Subli. th-cam.com/video/vg83_X76KVs/w-d-xo.html

    • @stacyodesigns
      @stacyodesigns  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      True DTF does work on dark colors,...but not the hack. DTF printers are able to print a white layer. Using the hack with sublimation does not print white. The advantage of the hack is you are able to print on high cotton fabrics. However,...a little birdie told me a product is in development to be able to use the hack and print on dark/black shirts. Stacy tuned ;)

    • @stacyodesigns
      @stacyodesigns  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a hack for use with cotton. But the sublimation properties still hold true. As of now, you can only do this on light colors. You could press onto white htv though. And,...I've heard they are trying to formulate a powder that will work on black fabrics.

  • @corrinefermaint7273

    • @stacyodesigns
      @stacyodesigns  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, the hack still has the properties of sublimation. Meaning only light colors. BUT, you can do it on cotton. So if the jeans were dark blue - you probably won't have great results. If they are white, that will work.

    How did you get your printer to print out the white parts of your image?

    • @mellanese
      @mellanese ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think it printed out white but the white in the shirt came thru the design because there was no color there.

    • @stacyodesigns
      @stacyodesigns  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is still sublimation ink, so no white ink was printed. On a design, anything that is white, prints transparent. But because the shirt was white, those parts came through. If the shirt was pink, those parts would be pink.
