Very useful information. 63 year old white belt here. I recently went hiking and slipped three times on the packed snow/ice. I guess falling two or three thousand times during my snowboarding years was my training to get me used to falling.😅
My boxing coach has a judo backround and teaches all of his fighters how to breakfall. It makes such a difference. Breakfalling has saved my coffee and my head many times.
I cross train judo and BJJ. Honestly, it freaks me out a little bit watching the BJJ guys fall. We don't drill the breakfalling like the judo guys do. If all you do is jiu-jitsu (and breakfalling isn't really practiced), do what Ryan says and take a little time out regularly to drill it. Maybe take a page out of the Japanese ju jutsu guys playbook; those guys start all their training sessions with pure breakfalling before they train anything else.
learning how to land is underrated. you are avoiding injuries that hold you back.

As a Canadian I understand, lol.
😂
We typically have 1-2 days/year with snow or ice on the ground per year. I know, I know. Lightweight vs y’all.
Great story! Thanks for sharing 🙌
I'm glad you enjoyed it!

For sure! I don’t think I lost a single drop of my coffee that morning! 😂
Another great video 👍self defense is important to know but practicing BJJ every week is more important 🥋
Thank you
me too. i've never use martial arts against someone in a fight. but i've use the break for 3 times
We drill this all the time. You may never get in the street fight but chances are you’re gonna fall down especially when you’re older.
