I’ve been having a rough couple days but when I see you upload it mkaes me feel better I enjoy your videos a lot and they really cheer me up , great video Luke
I came to cairns for a holiday a couple of weeks ago Visited palm cove thanks to your videos (: I did end up on a fishing charter with alltackle sports fishing Ended up with a 70cm queen fish opposite the big boat terminal in the city He also mentioned Barra fishing is best in February/march so I’ll be back for another try around then! Love watching your videos! Good to see good and bad times! Very entertaining Keep it up for sure !!
Bro your vids feels like coming back from a quick arvo sesh with ur good mate over a 6pack and a bag of servo prawn in an open tinnie . Can't bloody beat that can ya? Don't try become too pro of a fisherman bro! This is where we can relate to you the most lol 💪🤙
I’ve struggled to catch anything of note from the land in NQ. Best sessions I’ve had were in the creeks crossing the Bruce Highway between Cairns and Townsville. Park where possible near a bridge and walk towards the coast along the banks chucking prawn baits. Plenty of life.
I lived in Cairns in the late 70's and early 80's. You used to be able to catch fish from Port Douglas to Cairns, not so much these days though. Beach/coastal fishing should also be done very early morning. OMG Yorkies Knob looks so different. I used to go camping along the beach and there was no one there back then (except the odd croc). But my first experience fishing, I caught two fish on one line and also a crab (trying to eat the second fish). That was on the Barron River mouth. But that was when we stayed there for a day, the next day we moved to Weipa. Back then the fishing up there was phenomenal. I caught a barra with my old man the second day we were there, it was as big as me. Dad caught a bigger one that same day. Great video, thanks for sharing mate.
P.S - That much bait in the river is not usually a great sign depending on the season and the tide. If there is that much bait there, go back at night and fish as the tide turns - just as it hits the highest part of the tide and changes to low. But I'd be a bit redescent to fish alone, get a buddy and have them hold a torch out across the water. If you see little red eyes and hear barking noise (almost a croaking noise), it may be time to leave as those eyes and that noise are crocs in the river.
Awesome video mate love ya videos hope ya channel blows up with subs and like mate. Ya positive attitude for the outdoors even when ya cant catch a fish to save ya life 😅😂 but the resilience to keep trying is awesome mate.👍. A good pair of polarised glasses would help spotting the bait and biggens especially when ya were on the bridge trying to spot the livies.. AWESOME JOB KEEP AT IT 🎣 🤙
Hey lukey. Love your vids man, I think I’ve almost watched all of them 🤣 a sneaky hint for the stubborn plastics, a cheap little tube of superglue (put a dab of glue on the head of the plastic and hold against the jig head until it’s dry)!!!
Once again brother best 17 mins of my life awsome mangro jack man your a legend my brother straight up keep the hard work going can't wait for you to come to Adelaide bro ❤ much love man can't wait till next Tuesday already haha
Hey man awesome video You've really inspired me to fish these past couple months I've just been going through a really hard time at the moment But Hey awesome video There's a really good Place to fish in mareeba on rokio road I fish there all the time But bring cheese they love it But I but I can confirm there are There are fresh Water crocodiles But They Don' treally attack People unless you really annoy them And bring a Castnet One time I used it I got a really huge bream In the castnet But Hey thanks for the video If you've got any Questions Do ask me
thank you man that means a lot I will give that a crack so thank you man and I'm glad you are feeling better and my videos make you wanna go out fishing bro cheers happy fishing man
Hay mate I was so surprised seeing you fish a spot that I fish nearly every weekend!! I recommend trying of the bluewaterbaot ramp for some fingermark or barra. I got a 51cm fingermark recently of there and hooked 3 big barra. I like you content alot. Good luck fishing 🎣 👍
Got to go at right times of tide luke to increase your chances. Pulled some nice jacks/barra off rock wall at yorkeys. When new video coming bud, watching reruns waiting 😅
Great video mate. on the sunny coast i fish ALL the time its soo good for trev i use a lighter set up with a 2000 size real and a whipy 2-5 kg rod. its good for micro jiging 7gs of bridges. Anyways my i suggest holt prawns 2-3 inch you buy them online.
Nice vid, but I’m so keen to know what the Mrs said about the scratches up the new car on the last vid you did? Ha, ha, ha? I reckon you got in trouble for that! And …. That is what makes you guys real.. and that’s why Australia loves you guys❤
That's not Yorkies bro it's Trinity Park so glad to see you getting a nice Jack though! Also be careful going into Yarry as it has alot of Parvo around from the stray dogs. Be sure to wash your shoes when you get home for poor Rocko ❤
Hay Luke if you go crabbing again just know if it's has rained within 4 days the rain pushes the crabs out to the mouth of the creek. best of luck will.
If you hate when the soft plastics come off the jig head, try the Daiwa baitjunkie jig heads. The lock for the soft plastic is top notch, the soft plastic will not move and also the hooks are sharper. Can get em at BCF.
Heh mate have you tried that little pier/dock at Port Douglas? When I first moved up here I was looking after Japanese students I'd take them fishing at palm Cove and caught bugger all, then took them to Port Douglas and always caught something, nothing huge but always something
One thing u do need to do Luke is to visit and fish the goldcoast. They have probs one of the most gifted water systems in Australia. No matter where u choose to fish u 99% guaranteed to catch a fish
Good job mate nice video keep up the good work stillt think you should fish for some whighting you can get them at places like fraser island down south from cairns also fish in shallow gutters for them with worms or pipis anyway good video keep up the good work 👍👍👍
You should try fishing at night for barramundi one time, because all the Barra might not be around during the day much. The only thing is the risks of night fishing. Like crocs or getting lost etc but I think you could really get a nice barramundi. Happy fishing 🤙
Hey Luke your videos are awesome bro keep up the great content Up here for work for the next month or so and fished most of the northern beach river mouths grunter seem to be the best we are catching atm, I heard chinamens gully is the go for the barra anyone else got somewhere we have a good chance of getting one before we finish up here
I’m up in Queensland and been beach fishing past few days, I caught a small trevally and hooked onto something massive yesterday but it snapped me off. Any tips?
Cairns has been flogged for fishing! 25 years ago there was an abundance of fish, we used to catch plenty land base fishing for an hour, now you fish all day and be lucky to get a bite 😔
no matter where i find you fish no matter how remote landbased, it is about persistence, time, patience and trial and error, just keep going you will find the fish
also get some padde tail plastics in the 4/5/6 inch range, get some weedless hooks, learn how to rig them, and start casting deep into those snags and remember for barra and jacks to 'slow roll' and twitch your lure- with plastics especially paddletails just really really really slow roll it back, occasional hops and twitches - hardbodies just twitch and pause or slow roll ] just dont be afraid to cast into snags - they hold fish - slow everything down - and go hard on fish, tight drag, you never know if you are going to hook that metre fish no matter where you are happy fishing
There is a little tiny creek inside the sugar cane farm out yorkeys knob and its full of barra my dad used to take me there when i was little and its full of barra
Normally Land fishing for me sucks because its annoying just getting stuff caught in the trees. I recommend Noosa river because when I was in Queensland like 8 years ago my dad took me there and we caught a lovely Mangrove jack and a tasty flathead
I saw you at palm Cove I was the guy in that blue Jarvis walker shirt when you came up to me with the gopro and asked what fish it was just to let you know I caught a 40-50cm hammer head and a 70cm catfish about an 1 hour after you left
I’ve been having a rough couple days but when I see you upload it mkaes me feel better I enjoy your videos a lot and they really cheer me up , great video Luke
omg this comment makes me so happy that I can help you bro, I'm glad brother keep your head up
When he said I’m not the sh-tist fisherman in Australia, I catch more fish on the land than off the boat and the music cut off I was cracking it😂
lol how does that happen? lol I'm glad you enjoyed it brother =happy fishing.
Luke you have cured my boredom again congrats on the lovely Jack.
p.s the patrol is beautiful
I'm glad brother thank you so much for the comment bro stay safe 👍🏽 see you next week
I normally fish the cairns pier and catch 60+ trevallys . Also caught a Spanish off the esplanade.
