Honestly THANK YOU SO MUCH! I need plus size clothes and i also like beeing creative so i decided that i wanna sew own clothes, dresses in my size, but for this i need to sew elastics but i didn't know how to sew correctly. This video helped me so much! Thank you again!
Same here!! I'm getting into the Lolita fashion and cant really afford what I want but I can make it, and tutorials like this are essential for plus sized!!!
I know this code is 3 years old but this is EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED! Thank you so much for incredibly clear instructions and break down of each style! I appreciate so much! I was looking at your other videos and you’ve totally gained a new subscriber! I love everything you make! Thank you so much for being so incredibly helpful, it was exactly what I was looking for!🖤😊
The zigzag explanation was EXACTLY what I was looking for, thank you so much! Great video and simple explanation. Great work, now I just have to put it into practice on my top with (hopefully...) elasticated sleeve cuffs 😘💋❤
You are delightful! Thank you for this incredibly helpful tutorial. Now I can tackle the 2 projects I was nervous about with more confidence. Grateful!
Thank you so much for Appreciating my work🥰, getting positive feedback feels like I reached my goal of sharing my knowledge & helping fellow friends. Thank you ❤❤❤
Thank you, I'm a beginner and Interested to start a clothing design but hope to get the knowledge from inspiring women like yourself, thank you.. We have to start somewhere... Right😇
Fantastic, like everyone is saying, this is EXACTLY what I needed (no. 2 way to fix a ruffled sleeve on a vintage dress that was sewn with this method). I decided to stay for the rest, because I wanna know the other methods too for diff. things. Love when you show what they're used for, as well. Excellent teacher. :)
Thank you. I’ve only used elastic once and it was such a mess I’ve avoided it since unless it’s just threaded through. I’ve saved this to rewatch when I need it.
Thank you so much. Ive a long elastic waisted gypsy dress that ive unpicked the shirring on as it had gone basically. Youve shown me an easier way of shirring to replace it as was VERY CLOSELY shirred. Also me and normal shirring have issues 😂 hopefully i can sort this out as its a favourite dress of mine ❤ you were very clear as im deaf so its all about the visual. Also a newbie. Have suscribed 🎉
I am new to sewing and this is an amazing video. I have learned so much from you today. Definitely will be looking at your other videos and subscribing to your channel. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I certainly appreciated this. ❤
Crazy i was looking for ways to “smock” by handstitch! Never found a video. But i did this exact method and am almost done with my project, now i see this video😅😅
Thx. Love u showed so many ways to sew on elastic and the examples of where to use each was very helpful. Thank you. I have vowed I will never thread elastic via safety pin again!
Thank you. Very helpful. Question though ; is it ok to buy thicker elastic and cut down to smaller sizes or do you recommend having both thin and thick. Basically im afraid ill have issues sewing 1/4 inch cause its so thin. Are there instances where you really need a inch thick elastic? Or do you think 1/4 inch is usually good
What machine do you have? Looks like it works great. This was amazing video. I am refreshing my skills after many long years and this was super helpful.
I need help! I tried gathering and shirring elastic but instead the elastic is stretched out as the same size of the fabric. It will not go back down shirring or gathered.
Can I ask a question tho... For the zig zag videos and also, seeing the elastic bands on- I guess the seems must be visible then? Unless it's basically black thread on black fabric?
I have a question about the Zigzag Elastic. Could you please share with us the length of elastic that should be used for a strapless top? You mentioned earlier that for skirts, the elastic should be 3 to 4 inches less than the length of the fabric. Can we use the same measurements for tops as well? Thank you in advance for your answer.
hi good dayy!! ive been looking for videos asking ppl but nobody has a answer so i found a ton of elastic and why go to waste but the problem is it doesnt stretch how can i unstiffen the elastic to be stretchy again??
Hello Dear, really sorry but I am not sure if you can use that elastic again. I don't think you can make it stretch again once it loose it's elasticity.
How would you do this on a sleeve? I recently purchased a vintage clown doll and the wrists had elastic sewn in but they have gone over the years he has been around. Please help?
Huh, odd how your machine doesn't break when you stretch the elastic without also holding it behind the foot. Because when you just pull the piece towards you you're effectively battling the feeder that wants to pull it away from you. I was taught that were supposed to hold both front and back and so make the stretch completely independent from the feeder. But that process is hard because when you pull front and back there's no third hand to guide the fabric correctly.
I have a question. I’ve been having issues with the elastic and fabric moving smoothly or feeding when I try to sewing the elastic to my fabric. What are the settings I need to have my machine on so that it feeds smoothly? I hope this makes sense.
Isn’t it wonderful when you want to know something & the brilliant people are just too busy to read & answer your question? I myself am a beginner & do it by hand-as Iam too scared of the sewing machine!
I thought I was suffering from some kind of rare sewing machine phobia... Glad to hear someone else use the term "scared" to describe their feelings about it.
For sheer elastic stitch, how to measure the elastic. Usually we measure our measurement and add one inch and cut elastic for normal stitch. For sheer stitching, how to calculate the elastic length needed. Plz clarify

I thought the same thing. My machine will allow the elastic to slip if I don't pull at the other end.
That’s the issue I’m having now. How does one correct this?
This is such a great video! Thanks so much for the demonstrations. I finally understand how to better use my elastic!
Gracias!!!!! 💖💖💖
