A few updates on the car, if anyone is interested:
-About a month after this video was recorded, my catalytic converter was stolen, so now I have an aftermarket one installed and the car still runs perfectly fine, although the check engine light has been on because of it since... :/
-I have since replaced/refurbished the old hubcaps, I replaced 2 of them and restored the other 2. The replaced ones are OEM equipment and look exactly like the old ones but in much better condition.
-I replaced the burned out "D4" bulb, and also a few others that were burned out but you couldn't tell in this video because my headlights weren't turned on while I was inside the car.
The car is still running fantastic, despite me beating the heck out of it for work, and it has almost 275K miles on it now.

We used to have a 2002 accord special edition sedan in the same color. I miss it. A Jeep Wrangler rear ended us in Oakland New Jersey and thankfully I didn’t get hurt at all but the person in the jeep got hurt and the seatbelt snapped when they crashed into me. The gas tank is as leaking but managed to get me home. Tried repairing it but it didn’t work out. I actually cried when we got rid of it. Six gen accords will always hold a special place in my heart.

I have been driving a car similar to the one you owned for the last 19+ years. I bought it in September 2004 with 15k miles and it now has 151k miles on the odometer and still runs well. There are a lot of sixth gen Accords still running around out there. With proper maintenance they can easily do 200k miles with no problem.

I think if I were going to buy a late 90's-Early 2000's car it would be this!
    Great review!

This is a pretty sweet car! I can see why you love it so much. At this point with the maintenance you give this car, you can easily make it to 300K on this thing. And yeah your car easily has better horsepower than my Civic lol! But 21 City/27 for fuel economy Highway isn't bad at all for a V6. The 8th Gen Accord V6 only get's 17 highway.

Thanks! I didn't know the 8th gen only got 17, that makes me feel really fortunate with this thing. I would've thought they would've been a lot better with more gears/better designed transmissions. But I suppose those are 3.5L, while this only is only 3.0.

Awesome review! I absolutely love this gen of accord. Are you ever gonna consider changing the horns to trumpet horns like on the newer accords?

I've thought about it but I probably won't unless this one dies.

1:08 How many Post-It Notes did that take. LOL
1:33 Much better shape in the dings and dents department than my old Civic when I traded it in.
3:04 That's pretty impressive considering I have a couple rust spots on my 2013 Civic and it's supposed to have a thing that prevents rust. Hmm, now that I think of it. Maybe I should get that checked.
4:17 Huh. My dad's 2001 Accord had a remote fob. The key was needed to start it but the fob was for the locks/trunk.
13:00 Can't put the back seats down for more space?

1:08 I don't remember but I finished off a pad LOL, the wind kept blowing them off too.
3:04 yeah since it was in Texas for its first 12+ years it never got salt or anything near it. And now I make sure and wash it at least once a week in the winter to keep the salt off of it and that helps. My dad did that too when he still drove this.
4:17 I wonder if he had the EX
13:00 I think they do go down or come out somehow but I've never tried.

@@twincitiesmetrodashcam 4:17 It's possible. IIRC the salesman, when my dad bought it used, said something along the lines of a Honda executive drove it for a year before the next model year came out. It was blue with the same colour interior as yours and it had a sun roof.

Do you plan on selling it anytime soon? If so what car would you replace it with?

    • @twincitiesmetrodashcam
      @twincitiesmetrodashcam  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Not planning on selling it anytime soon, especially with car prices crazy high right now. Just has a lot of sentimental value to us. When the time eventually comes to replace this I'd probably get a Camry or Accord again.

I really love that car man, but in case you didn't know, people enjoy videos likes these more when you show us 1st person view when driving. Try to use a GoPro camera or something on your head to give us that view. I'll subscribe to your channel and hopefully you start giving us that view. and Oh, I am not referring to the dashcam view, We'd like to see your hands on the wheel, plus your view. jus like in those video games
