- Investors are pissed at Starbucks after their recently earnings report. Ongoing problems at Starbucks could also spell trouble for the overall economy ahead as consumers spending slows. We are in a constantly threat of recession, and based on what I've seen from Starbucks, it won't be long until we are living in that long-awaited recession.

Another issue is that they've alienated their most loyal customers by making the loyalty program worse. It used to be that 10 purchases got you a free item (of any value). Then they moved to a dollar based rewards system. Ok. It kind of makes sense so that those getting a latte are compensated more than someone who is getting a regular drip coffee. But then they devalued the points. By a significant amount. Used to be that I could get a free coffee for 50 stars. Now it's 100 stars. Not surprised at all at the struggles. Totally self inflicted.
a 'premium' coffee brand with 17k+ stores in the US is a lil over extended
$3.50 for a cup of coffee is crazy then they want a tip on top of that . Cup of coffee costing $4.25 on average, I’m good . I’ll make my own for less than a dollar .
more like $6-$8 for coffee
They are selling black water for $3.50.
I regretfully brought more shares without properly reading the earnings. And then the CEO coming across like that. I reckon it's a falling knife. But is still attractive for us value investors. So i'm just going to hold and see what happens and hope a turn around happens. A small position for me anyway.
I drink minimum 730 cups a year luckily it’s at home much less money
Correction - they are running out of idiots who wants to buy their coffee. I’ll make a better and cheaper cup at home .
We get our coffee from my wife’s farm in Brazil and roast the beans and it’s the best coffee ever little expensive because of the import cost but worth it.
Too many locations and minimum wages alert 😅😂
You are completely right about China. I'm living here since 2018 and the coffeeshops market is exploding. Starbucks is getting behind of the concurrence. I'm based in Shanghai and you can find much better places than Starbucks to drink a nice cup of coffee and even cheaper. Also big part of the Chinese doesn't like that much and most of the people who does get the coffees from 7/11, McDonalds or similar places. I'm also not buying any SBUX stock even if keep going down.
I heard Luckin is the big thing over there. Have you been/ tried it? 🤔
Expensive and low quality bitter coffee. That's why they have to add so much sugar
agree, their coffee is not good. McDonalds has better coffee for half the cost.
Expensive sugar beverage but nice designs on top.
When the people of this country discover Cuban coffee, Starbucks will be toast
Paying Ludacris amount for coffee soda/pop like monster, redbull
Makes other brands raise the price also
Now the price of poison drinks are crazy
Making coffee myself at home more. Noticeable on my wallet really.
for what it’s worth, our daughters ages 12 & 14 love sbux and their friends the same. Lemonade drinks, etc. not coffee. I can’t stomach the gimmick and try to explain to them it’s a ripoff
Are they paying for this with their own money?
I hate Starbucks
