TI-84 Commands: Solving systems of equations by graphing and row-reduced echelon form matrices

TI-84 increases speed and accuracy for solving simultaneous equations. In this video, Dr. T works a simple system of equations the old-fashioned way, by the substitution method, then confirms with a graph on TI-84 emulator. Matrices are another way to solve simultaneous equations - especially useful for systems with 3+ variables. Dr. T performs row operations by hand, confirming the solution from graph and substitution method, but the calculator performs the operations much faster, which is important for test takers. Generally, faster and with less potential for error is good, so calculator is good.
