Thank you for the shout out, it was a blast running for you all. Having experienced role-players at the table is always a true treat. Plus I will be at PAX Unplugged. Let's get together and see about doing something together.
Hey Ted! I stared watching your channel roughly 2 years before I even played DnD and In those 2 years I’ve run 2 campaigns! Thanks for all the coverage through the years.
Thank you for being my convention buddy for my first major convention! I’m looking forward to doing it all over again at Pax Unplugged. I can’t wait to see what you do with FanRoll. My fingers are crossed that we get some NerdImmersion silicone dice because I’m OBSESSED with my set 😂
“If you keep hearing me say their names its because they’re the ones who get up early” Ted it’s okay… You can tell folks that you, Josiah, and I are all con besties running around like the three stooges with fists full of dice 😂😂😂
the dice clicks are the point
Hi Ted, I ran into you on Wednesday, I'm the guy that said I was overwhelmed at my first GenCon. It was really cool meeting you, and everything ended up working out great. Next time I see you maybe I'll remember to get a picture!
That's really cool that you were able to run into and meet so many folks - but honestly, you do good work on here man and so it doesn't surprise me. :-)
Great seeing you at the DDudes party, even though we didn't really interact. I was cosplaying as a shy nerd among all the creators, hadn't expected to see almost every D&DTuber ever there!
Youre gonna love those guides you got in the mail.
Will WotC be updating the SRD/OGL/Creative Commons with the 2024 rules update?
I kickstarted the Everyday Hero's, but selected to get all the books in one shipment, so I'm waiting til December for my physical copies. Looking forward to your review of it. :D
I loved the D20 Modern back in the day, and had most expansions. I think my brother ran off with them years ago. LOL.
I like the sound of rolled dice though. Even in podcasts :-)
love ya Ted - glad you had a blast!!!
I was the one who got the first giveaway Mug at the Alchemy booth!!!
It we awesome getting to meet you at the 2024 rules update panel! We could’ve used better answers on my questions about spells and feats, but they definitely said some exciting things regardless.
Thanks Ted for being so dedicated, we need you for our weekly news for rpg!
So happy to hear you hat some great days at gencon and I would absolutely have meet up with you to say thank you for all the news and insight.
I hope you will have a great day
Silicon dice are perfect if you play a rogue.
Go to a good gaming convention... VENGER CON III tickets available by Lovecraft's birthday! *CHA'ALT*
Nice Con!
Sounds like you had a blast. Thanks for the coverage. Also, did you speak to the Dungeon Dudes at all during their event?
I worked the con over the weekend and if i wasnt being paid to be there, there would be a slim chance of me attending again. Way way to many people there. Was cool meeting you for a minute though
Thanks for the recap Ted. Since I was unable to attend I appreciate you taking the time to give us a look at the Con. With regards to WOTC/D&D, I find it interesting that when Glory to the Giants, Planescape & Book of Many Things were originally announced. I was most interested in Planescape>Book of Many Things>Glory to the Giants. But now Glory to the Giants is the only one I am purchasing, I cancelled my book preorders for everything else except Phadalin and Below. I think a few things are behind this. Spelljammer was a waste, OGL, and too many products being released back to back. I cannot even begin to digest any of the material before two more books come out. Will you be doing seperate videos for each of the panels? I am still in the middle of this video as I comment, so it may be talked about a little later in the video.
I have Everyday Heroes and The Crow adventure. I'm really looking forward to getting back into Modern!
Sad I missed ya while I was there. It was so busy!
How many of the campaign settings of Everyday Heroes expand the story line\characters from their respective franchise? I remember Highlander, both movie and TV show as well as the very short lived card game, and have wondered what happen to certain characters. Highlander 3 did decent on wrapping things up but could have left a few plots unresolved.
I remember D20 modern being out fairly well during the 3.5 days. For some odd reason, I always thought it was created by WotC as part of the 3.5 world. I liked the idea of it and glad this company created a 5th ed version especially with all of these campaign settings\expansions.
Glad you had such a great time. I would have went to different things than you since I have a strong interest in the Renegade Game Studio Essence 20 system. I also know another Hasbro company was there, Avalon Hill, which I would have found to see whatever HeroQuest stuff they had.
If I'm being completely honest, I would also love to have your autograph if I ever met you in person, you're amazing!
No chance to get a look at Daggerheart?
Unfortunately no, those all sold out really quick
I saw Everyday Heroes; They have tons of supplements like you said
They need an updated version of Spycraft for Everyday Heroes.
Woo! Everyday Heroes hype!!
Very interested to hear more on the Pokemon-like game when he has it ready
I would be curious as to how something like Pokemon could become a TTRPG.
Will you do a haul video?
the silicone dice man, I want them. Squishy.
I had a fairly different experience at Gen Con as I purposefully avoided D&D stuff and wanted to check out other systems. I also did the Avatar Legends demo which was pretty decent. The standouts for me was the Witcher and The Old Gods of Appalachia. I'm really surprised you didn't do Daggerheart, I figured you and a handful of other creators would have pretty much a free pass for that game. I wasn't able to get in because I booked late. I went into the the Dragonbane room and had them explain the setting, but it seemed not my thing with like duck-people and what not, and it seemed that Witcher fit the low-magic fantasy feel i was going for better than Dragonbane.
Any thoughts, details , info on the Stormlight RPG?!?! The character sheet looked super promising!!!
I actually talked with someone working on it, if I can get more info, I'll make a video!
Fantastic. Appreciate the response and look forward to the coverage.
My mainly focus is D&D just because there is no much of those fun new games in russian. It may be hard to find people eager to play in english. It's hard to find physical books, even for D&D since WoTC problems with european publisher few years ago. And, you know, now it's even worse for obvious reasons.
Though no longer a D&D player (post OGL), I like to keep watch your channel to keep up with the 2024 release and RPG news in general. Shame you didn't pause to look at the Paizo Remaster going on (but admittedly there is a plethora of youtube videos already out on that).
Everyday Heroes is pretty good EXCEPT multiclassing is feat-based.
It's not impossible--in fact, it's almost incidental--to correct that to just level-based multiclassing, unlike 4th ed. Anyway, that's my biggest complaint about the book. Otherwise, if you miss D20 Modern, or if you're looking for a new sort of D&D-like game, it's a not a bad system.
second? Thanks for all of the cool information...
I'm in the, pretty much only here for D&D camp. I don't mind seeing you branch out to other stuff, but honestly most of the other options just don't do it for me.
Just heard that Gen Con quietly extended their contract with Indy, even though the anti-abortion law passed and is now law. If you have any contacts or connections I would love to hear your thoughts or investigative work on this issues that I have only seen one person cover so far.
They support future gamers attending by having them being born first.
The last time I heard GenCon threaten to leave Indy was when Pence was pushing the RFRA

Since you mention it, I'd like to see a lot more coverage of non-D&D/non-WotC ttrpgs and a lot less d&d coverage given now WotC/Hasbro treats its customers. Personally, I gave up buying any WotC products in 2017 and haven't looked back, plus I started Pathfinder back in 2010. As someone who played ttrpgs since 1977 I have always loved role-playing various games. Yes, I mostly played the various iterations of d&d, but starting with Dragonquest RPG in 1979 (or 1980), I have found non-TSR/non-WotC games to be better at rules and game-play. Thus, please start covering Pathfinder 2e, Starfinder 2e, CoC, World of Darkness, One Ring, Legend of the Five Rings, Zwiehander, Travellers, etc... Growing what ttrpgs you cover can only lead to more viewership, imho. Cheers.
If he would expand his non-DnD stuff, I would like him to expand beyond fantasy realm. There are plenty of sci-fi, superhero, and other genre out there to cover as well as fantasy.
AI is here to stay. Just accept it, no need to fear it.
