Awesome video. I am small TH-camr, and I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. If you are not popular, people won't care even if you have the best videos and the best content on platform. I am not beginner anymore, but I know how hard it can be (and honestly if I didn't use a lot of Fame- ster, I would have quit a long time ago. It made everything much easier for me, especially getting to 1000 subs and view hours)

Jack i noticed something new, an old short of mine which is more than half a year old has gotten over 150,000 clicks out of nowhere. the clicks are still growing and i'm extremely surprised because the video before it stopped at about 6,000 clicks. This is something whats new in the algorithm, it gives old short content a chance to go viral. all it takes is time.

Why does this new update make me think this happened because yt is tired of tate podcasts being posted to yt but in reality its very hard to make those original because main idea of those shorts is to get out a message. So it almost feels as they wanna get rid of them. Either way great showcase of new shorts creation. Definitelly gonna help :)
One thing about YT is that, as long as you ain't posting original videos, you must never move outta your mom house and think you'll depend on YT money

By the way, adding an English script can significantly increase RPM. By speaking English in your videos you attract an American audience which brings it more ad revenue. My current RPM is around $0.12

I would try TH-cam search around and find a style of content within your niche that is creating content that you think is value editing like I explained in the video.... if you find one try to change it so you create unique shorts. I wouldn't appeal the decision until you can get another few viral shorts to get back to 5 mill views or 10 mill. It will be easier because you do have viral shorts that you can use for returning viewers which helps. Then once there delete your old shorts so they approve your channel.

Well done on the experiments and sharing that with us. I was wondering why the 0 views because I start 4 different channels and 2 got 27K +/- (Individually) views in 7 days the other 2 keep getting zero with each video posted, and I am consistently posting same time everyday. Same kind of edits as well which I don't get.
If you could let me know if my editing on this channel would count as value added editing, though there is no voice over the editing still takes a long time and it would suck if I grind it out and youtube deems it as no value editing. Same style/kind off editing on the other 3 channels.

I followed your methods and be able to monetize in 2 months. and now i noticed the same thing happening to me and some similar channels. each of my videos only get couple thousands views while they could get tens of thousands before. Okay so how about TH-cam videos without stealing content
People learn the hard way. they think slapping text on or adding a few edits is fair use. Original creators still have the power of content id to shut down copycats. You can request a review and explain but you will be doing this continuously and it becomes a nightmare. Find something and create your own content, those nightmares disappear.

Yeah, your concerns are justified and i dont believe it will be monetizable. You do have around 400 subscribers though so dont give up! What you have been doing is working and you have an initial audience. So it might be best to start slowly pivoting to content that is monetizable. Let me know how you go!!

My channel is Country Motivation but it got demonized
I’m running a channel just for my hobby, I do not monetize my channel but what I’ve noticed is that they (again) made some fixes on the TH-cam store and some features in short remixes. It could be what makes shorts not work well with the previous algorithm. Good luck anyway:)

This guy inspired me to start my channel! I started mine 3 weeks ago and here i am in the comment section for you peeps to check it out. This process takes time!
I also had view spikes going up and down during this time. Many of my shorts got literally 0 views for a week straight. But some of my shorts performed pretty well also. My Episode 30 literally got -- average percentage viewed of 96% with 1.5k views -- and I was really amazed by that.
Now again from 2 days, I am getting no views. But now , I am not worried because I know a big spike of views is again gonna hit me in no time.

Bro, I've been rejected twice for monetization. And now for the 3d shot, I've firstly removed Tate clips 🤷🏻♂️, and secondly, I started to add more and more stock content on my shorts.

You're rejected, and will stay rejected because your content is in no way "transformative." Editing and re-uploading other people's content is not monetizeable. Rogan clips are a rare exception but only with very heavy editing and visual storytelling added to the audio.

That means, if someone went looking for the clip you used, they would be disappointed to find yours instead. You need to change and add something to it that makes the entertainment part of it from you. Watch Dylan Anderson. He is a prime example of fair use transformative content.

@champagnedrake yes. Or change the content enough that it's unrecognizable. TH-cam abides by Fair Use, they don't decide what it is. Also, writing about how fair use your content is in your bio also doesn't help.

The editing is really Good though. Drop the link or the name for the 3 Mil I am really curious about the content
with podcasts and motivation niches, I don't have too much knowledge and I don't to give you incorrect advice specifically related to content. Chances are if they rejected you its not value add editing refer to my video if you want to learn more about this... But here's what i would do: I'd try find a monetized channel in your niche and see if you can pivot your content to something similar. With your appeal video, I would not submit one just yet. Create content using similar techniques to the monetized content in your niche and you can use the shorts you have already created to leverage the existing returning viewers. Once you reach the partner program using new content, delete your old content that wasn't monetizable and reapply. If you think that process will take longer than 90 days then you may as well try the appeal again (because you wont be able to reapply for 90 days after your appeal). Let me know how you go.

Hi Sunny, you wont be copyright for any song you use in shorts. no matter who owns it or how famous it is. They do it to compete with tiktok which also allows any song to be played.

I do have a question though, my shorts have not been getting any views and its because its those streamer+gameplay at the bottom type of videos, if i change my content by adding more effects, removing the gameplay, adding photos for context and overall just re-editing it, do you think it will be monetizable?

Yo jack i got a question, i have a shorts channel and i upload quite consistent shorts each one gets on average 4k views but after a few shorts the views just drop around 50 to 100 for next couple of shorts and the shorts again get around 4k average views. any reason for that? + all my shorts are high quality i spend hours on it.

Im glad they added the value add edit requirement. Most channels were just copy pasting previously with just some music edit which is lazy and non creative

Hey, a 90% AVD is great but you need to consider the length of the short. Because if the AVD is 90% for a 10 second short that is not very good. but if the short is 59 seconds long with a 90% AVD you will go viral.....

your content isn't transformative enough. ironically your content is most similar to a channel by the name of FitFix except for one crucial detail - he adds commentary and captions. he transforms the content into something new, therefore he's able to monetize it.

hey jack, i started my channel a few months ago called Jee Mato. i post animation content like batman and invincible. i see other channels post the same kind of content but when i tried to apply for the TH-cam partner program, they declined because of reused content. Any advice for me?
It seems that you aren't creating the animations so i assume they are from TV shows? The youtube partner program specifically states that TV shows and movies are not monetizable. If you are creating them yourself you can appeal the decision and show them proof of your editing files.

what about my channel since its in a different niche what should i be doing differently? i edit my shorts and have my own content alot of my videos on shorts did decent wit a few thousand so far but sometimes they completly flop how many times do you think i should post in one day ?
Thanks Jack. What im trying to figure out it if your shorts channel is new and is a niche channel, is it normal to have low average percent viewed? I.e. the algorithm is showing your videos to everyone so its low but hopefully over time as it finds the right audience this will improve? Thanks a lot
