I have a big soft spot for LA Metro and I'm very proud of them for building so much new infrastructure. Compared to the rest of the USA they are doing a great job, but the TOD and planning around stations is pretty bad(parking lots and gas stations). The Regional connector will be a game changer and I can't wait to come back and visit. Great video
Parking lots near stations are a necessity in LA for the foreseeable future. Why? Because there is no way LA Metro can build fast enough to have enough stations close enough to enough people to make it convenient for them to use the LA Metro without making it easier to get to the stations. Being that we're in LA, and most people have a car, supplying parking near stations is a huge convenience and helps to entice drivers to be riders. BTW, having parking near stations doesn't prevent TOD. In fact, TOD is happening all along the LA Metro system. You can readily see it when you ride the different lines. And, yes, the Regional Connector has been a game changer.
Pretty soon, all of the original 1990's illuminated signs inside 7th Street/Metro Center station (especially on Blue Line light rail platform) are gonna change to the newest format. The station's new light rail platform signs will have new blue with letter "A" dots for the A Line (Blue Line) and gold with letter "E" dots for the new E Line (Expo Line) along with the new and existing final destinations. Platform 1 signs will soon read "A Line to Azusa" and "E Line to East Los Angeles" while platform 2 signs will still read "A Line to Long Beach" and "E Line to Santa Monica". The same changes might happen to the station's Red Line subway platform signs, adding new red with letter "B" dots for B Line (Red Line) and purple with letter "D" dots for D Line (Purple Line).
@@Lucrativecris I know that. Probably, LA Metro went a little conservative with its signage inside 7th/MC station. But news came that 7th/MC station will finally undergo a makeover, which will finally upgrade its signage.
Hey I greatly appreciate you watching my video. 13:15 I mention that the C Line is formerly the Green; and in the caption at 23:11, I mention that the D Line is formerly the Purple
Does that jazz music have to be on all the time!!!!!!??? It detracts from the video. That's the music I get when I call Cell phone customer service and wait for almost 2 hours for a representative.
