Native prairie grasses are alternative forage warm-season perennial grasses that can fill the mid-season summer slump. Most native grasses have a clump-type growth habit and can grow to over 3 feet tall. The common names for WI native warm-season grasses are Indiangrass, Switchgrass, Big Bluestem and Little Bluestem.
