- We’re doing something a little different for this week’s Closet Confessions - now that I’m fully moved into my new home, it’s time to show you all my brand new wardrobe layout. Although moving can be stressful, it’s a great opportunity to re-assess the way you organise your things and maybe even re-discover a few cherished pieces that have been hidden away in a cupboard. With the help of a few IKEA shelves and my trusty Muji storage boxes, I’ve relished re-organising my clothes and accessories for this new space. Regardless of whether you’re moving house or not, consider a little spring cleaning to give you a fresh perspective on your own wardrobe…

To prevent UV damage of your clothes and bags, have UV filter film fitted to your windows!! I have and it protects my furniture and paintings!! Please try it!

UV protective film on windows, when fitted correctly is invisible and worth it's weight in gold.

i love the walk in closet, very bright and spacious. i wonder what Trinny does to maintain those clothes and bags from collecting dust. maybe an episode on that one day? bc mine requires a lot of dusting or else there'll be dust on every single one of my clothes
yes, i wondered about the dust as well. my wardrobe is partially open, and it doesn't take long for the dust to collect....
Sadly, I'm in a dustbowl🤣. Plus, I like to open my clerestory bed & en suite windows. Also have to snooze😴💤 in the same space. Beautiful as her closet, I wouldn't find it restful to 👀see all that glorious splendor after I retired.
Hence, a bank of 4 tall 6-dr chests on one wall. Several pretty hatboxes stacked on each end, a display of vintage jewelry boxes between w/a pretty chandelier above. A single tall 6-dr chest on another small wall between bathroom & entrance door. It has a lamp & several trinket boxes on top.
A 3 panelled sliding door closet. Far Sides w/3 XL zippered cloth garment bags each for extra dust & moth prevention. Suit sets by color on the left. Long coats, dresses, skirts to the right. Shoe Drawer Cubbies below. The middle section has two tiers for Tops & Trousers.
😉Will use the top rail of canopy bed structure (nearest footboard) as a "staging rail" for outfits when needed.
Vaulted Ceilings, so more closed storage extends from the top of the closet w/3 sets of double doors. Space for suitcases, totes, backpack, larger handbags, & off season bed linens. Rolling bins under bed for cap collection, sandals, oversize sneakers, & bulk buy TP🧻.
💻 To maximize a closed system, & find something in a pinch〰️found it easier to create a legend & diagram of all inventory. Plus, a searchable spreadsheet of storage & closet contents. 😃As a pack rat, these devices bridge any gap in my memory👍.

You can get a UV blocking/light diffusing film to cover the high round window and protect your bags. Love the new closet!! All wonderful luck!!

Such a great space! Organization at it's BEST 💛 Just a tip there is a film you can put on your windows that filter the harmful rays of sunlight that doesn't block out the sun light. 3 M makes a very good one. Beautiful wardrobe, Trinny! It definitely is like a shop! You could have a base built for your center island if you wanted it to be higher or have a cabinet person attach metal legs to it.

Ideas for future closet confessions:
What are your recommendations for hosiery, stockings or tights for those of us who live in cold climates and can't have bare legs exposed with a skirt or dress?
Also, how to select the correct evening bag for a formal occasion. Size, proportion, color? Does the length of the dress dictate the appropriate style for an evening bag?
How to style things from your boyfriend's closet. Stuck on a holiday and his luggage arrived, but not yours. What to wear from his wardrobe and how to style it. Ha. Fun.

Ok so EVERY TIME I do the half tuck my husband says " you forgot to tuck in here" I day no its supposed to be like this! He says " but you look a bit messy, and forgetful" lol
Closet goals! I would love to do this in my home. I did buy the clear jewelry drawers and love them. Would love a segment on European travel outfits for us Americans vacationing abroad :) I loved your packing videos. Going to France and I have no idea what to pack that looks chic but practical for walking and sightseeing and dinners out in Paris, Nice and Monte Carlo. Ugh :)

That navy blouse is just incredible! Also as a side note we are always in a transitional season is Australia… peak summers or winters- you can never quite tell whether you would be boiling or freezing in a few hours! So bring on the layering videos!

Hi Trinny love your videos, and you ideas, i was wondering if you could give us some ideas how to manage clothes, when you live in a small apartment! i live in the centre of Paris in a small 32 meter apartment, with only ikea wardrobes, and i find i seem to keep wearing the same clothes over and over again even though i have a good wardrobe of clothes, full of clothes i have not even worn! Congratulations on the move, and thank you for the tour. The closet is a dream! Ikea is my personal favorite for functional furniture as well. Be careful and limit direct sunlight exposure, or sunligh exposure overall, by investing in proper shades. I had the open closet concept once and my clothes took a beating.
