  • ▶Title: Quantum information experiments with single atoms coupled to crossed optical cavities

    ▶Abstract: Single atoms coupled to two crossed optical fiber-cavities provide the versatility to explore different quantum information schemes with two different atomic transitions coupled to the two independent optical resonators. In this talk I will start presenting the past implementation two such schemes: a heralded photonic quantum memory and a nondestructive detector of photonic qubits. I will also talk about current ideas regarding photon generation schemes, including the fast and efficient measurement of atom-photon entanglement and the cascaded efficient generation of photon pairs. Finally, I will talk about our current effort to connect this single atom quantum network node to a metropolitan telecom fiber link.
