Thank to for showing us the finished result with the revolver in it.
I almost thought you were finished with the video showing it as is.
It looks good, but so much nicer with the pistol resting in it...really completes it in an elegant way!

Beautiful job! I was struggling with how to fix this case. Thank you for the information.

Great job! That's the thing with the old S&W Presentation cases, the flocking or lining comes off. I didn't know you could reflock them, I have been relining them with velvet material. I will have to give the flocking a try. Thanks for posting the video!

Nice job, sir. I was texting with a friend and talking about his wood case that he just got with a model 27, same frame as the 29 of yours, different caliber. Now I'll make me a case from nice wood and do the interior. Can't wait for warm weather.

Looks good mate, the tape is actually there to stop the corners of the plastic tray cracking but still in perfect condition by the looks of it anyway.. Good job.. 👍🏻👍🏻

I always put the cases in storage. The safe queens go into silicone socks and the rest are out just waiting their turn to be used. The flocking would be cool for a glass show case though.

@@linksgarage1985 This is the key to preservation...They are for display, and not storage...Moving them around with the gun inside causes the molded plastic inserts to crack and break, plus oil seeps out of the gun and deteriorates the flocking...The weight of the gun also causes the plastic to break around the barrel and hammer areas...They are a real pain to restore...As mentioned by another viewer, the tape around the perimeter will help hold the plastic base intact...If you have one that the flocking is partially gone or worn, I soak the whole insert in 91% isopropyl about 20 minutes then the whole mess will just hose off...The foam rubber insert in the upper half is useless as the new flocking does not adhere well with the adhesive...I cut a stiff piece of cardboard to size, seal it with polyurethane, then flock it when dry...Cut it for a tight fit in the lid, and you won't need to glue it down...You are correct in using much more flocking than needed with the applicator...The excess can be brushed off with a clean, dry paintbrush, and reclaimed back into the storage bag for next time...My S&W collection is stored inside my safe in silicone treated gunsocks...They will not rub against each other when stacked high, and I've never seen rust on any of them when I take them out for display at gun shows...I transport cases and cardboard boxes separately...The FlockIt product itself is excellent - it's the only one I recommend...👍

I have about 24 presentation cases. The problem I have is they are all plastic and cracked. The Flocking is fine. I have never seen one with foam.
