they’re in highschool… their parents take care of them
@@kaivonnix1100 Exactly!
You dont have the full context if you dont watch the show. Devi, the girl, had her dad die and she’s going through trauma and grief from it. The guy’s mom pretends to support devi and her son in their relationship but behind devi’s back she calls her crazy and mentally unstable bc she hasnt healed yet. In that case, you rly think saying “my mom pays for my phone I cant make her mad” is appropriate for the situation
@@idonthonestlyknow758 While that is absolutely messed up of the mom, it's not just the phone that she's paying for. She's also likely paying for his food, water, clothing, and other necessities. Sort of like talking back to your boss when you can't get another job.
@@meliponalord8892 you really don't get the point. His mom is very important of course but come on if you were a boy and liked a girl and your mom calls her mentally unstable because she's still healing from her dad's death, that really isn't fair to devi (the girl).
Devi .* Harasses a guy * the title *Devi being savage*
Whoever tf is saying she’s in the wrong for the last one- his mom insulted her left and right and he didn’t stand up for her at all. Yes most of us would choose our family over bf/gf if the relationship wasn’t that serious, but he ghosted her and didn’t defend her and it was extremely well deserved. The last one isn't savage its just bratty, %99 of high school relationships don't last so making a big fuss is so childish and the guy did not insult her and was completely honest on why he couldn't go out with her and he very much had a point.
Did you watch the show because if you did then you would know why she did that
Context: he was ghosting her and lying to her because he didn't have the balls to break up with her. His mother said some nasty things about her because she was having PTSD over her father's death and he didn't defend her. Basically he was acting like a total shitbag and totally deserved the coffee splashed in his face lmao
@@LaJota-lb8xg if that's her reaction then of course he didn't have the balls to tell her to her face, his mother is very shitty ngl but in the end he is under her roof and she pays for everything he needs in his life so he can't really go against her for some girl, if he was older I would have held him accountable because then he could get a job and an apartment but in the show he is just a high-schooler. I still think throwing a tantrum over a guy not wanting to date you is childish, if she wanted people to change their perspective on her she should have respected herself and recognized she deserved so much better than the crap she is dealing with and simply walked away.

At the end she should’ve said “better hope she pays for that.”
I come across the same "Devi is sooo toxic.. she's the worst friend ever.. girl's got serious issues.. blah blah blah" kind of comments under all her videos. What most people don't realize that this is INTENTIONAL!
She's one of the very few protagonists who is messy, imperfect, and makes tons of mistakes like the rest of us, which honestly makes her such a realistic character! All of us are heroes in our stories, but what we don't realize is that we are often the villian in others' life. This is portrayed so well in Never Have I Ever! Making such a flawed character the protagonist has to be one of the main reasons why I love this show.
She makes me mad and cringe with second-hand embarrassment at times (let's be honest--most of the times!), but it's so refreshing to see a character that's so much more than the same old stereotypes. Mindy Kaling rocks!
