    I personally love working for Audi. I turned down Chrysler to go back to Audi. I enjoy working on the higher end vehicles. I will say the training is crazy to keep up with.

    Wanting you to go by the book for every little thing is just plain stupid, but seeing as how they’re dealing with top end cars, that’s exactly what those kind of customers want. The kind of people that want their battery cable torqued to spec.

    I do like to know the specs before I do anything on any equipment. If a manufacturer wants something done a certain way, it should likely be done that way.

    I know some guys that work at a BMW dealer and the technicians I’ve have talk to are so laid back and everything. They were about the book to but they were also like here is a faster way and we don’t need to read the book for this one. I have shadow a guy who was teaching me the ropes and he help me on whatever I need, he was definitely I take the shirt off my back guy and the other techs are too. It just depends on the dealer and the techs who you work with.

    Justin Dow.. I look at it like this, if anyone else can do it so can I. It's just a bunch of nuts bolts and parts, right?

    I mean if it isnt for you, it isn't for you- but it did sort of come across to me as 'I couldn't keep up, so they're Nerds'...it just sort of had that tone like you felt inferior. And I mean I don't know shit- I took an auto shop class in high school and I enjoy working on cars as a hobby- so you know, I don't have any skin in the game and am just here to learn. We're all just living on a rock spinning at 1,000 mph rotating around the Sun at 66,000 mph. Everything else is just icing on the cake. Have a good one, and keep up the content. Cheers!

    Lol I've been saying "working on cars doesn't scare me" for years now and you're the first tech I've heard say they have the same mind set. Keep doing what you're doing Justin and stay solid bro.

    You were in the military for 17 years and retired? Do you get a pension with 17 years? I thought you had to have 20 or 25 these days?

    • @clinte14
      @clinte14 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's 20 years to pension but it is not uncommon for people to get medically retired before 20.

      @@clinte14 I was wondering if that might be the case. I grew up in high school with a guy that was in the Air Force for less than a year or so in the early 70's. He played crazy down in Texas at his first tech school after basic, just to get out of the AF. They put him in the psyche ward and finally discharged him with a medical (mental) disability. He admitted to me it was a put-on to get out, and he said he met another guy in the psyche ward he believed was also acting. He's been collecting a disability pension all these years. It was about $400 a month back in 1985, so I can't imagine what it has grown to by now. He got back here to Phoenix, and I can only imagine what his dad thought, who had retired after a great career and was one of the first black jet fighter pilots in the USAF. I imagine dad was a tad disappointed in junior. The guy applied to the Phoenix Police Dept, and really seemed puzzled why they declined to give him a badge, gun, and patrol car. Apparently they didn't tell him his mental disability from the Armed Forces might be the reason they declined to hire him, even though you know they would have loved to hire a minorty applicant. I guess he must have thought, "Gee, just because the Air Force deemed me crazy, I don't see why I can't be a cop with the legal authority to shoot people." On his Facebook page, he proudly proclaims, "USAF Veteran." Yeah, sure. Should say, "USAF Malingerer." (I am not denigrating legitimate medical retirements.)
