I never played SFV just because of how they mis-handled Juri.... I know that's bad... but it's like take the MOST INTERESTING, UNIQUE character from SF4... and then make her into cardboard.... hated the game for it. Just look at her super in sf5... wtf! IN SF6 though! They realized their grave mistake! Thank god for that

That's actually why Ken's depressed: his failed rap career. He put his fortune into music production and merchandise but no one bought it (except Kimberly) and that stuff is in the landfill now.
OK but can we take a second to really appreciate Kimberly's design aspects. Her top is clearly modeled after Guy's gi and she also wears the same bright red chuck Taylor's he does, she just has baby blue shoe laces. The use of red, yellow, and baby blue is pretty common in certain African clothes, if you look at her hair bow you can kinda see what they were going for. He clothes in general are a good marriage between personality and function. Bushinryu as its presented in street fighter is all about speed and agility, strike swiftly kind of thing. Which is probably why she went to learn bushinryu in the first place. She's a trackstar which plays into why she calls herself ninja star and her in place running stuff. Her move set is comparable to guys obviously but it's similar in the same way Sean and Sakuras are to the ppl they take after. It's imperfect, largely shown by her needing a running start up the wall for her super. God she's just very well thought out and I love her weird ass. Even the 80s thing kinda plays to final fight being retro af. God this is a great chatacter
They also provided a non- cliche background for her given the stage is on the streets. She had a normal upbringing and graduated college early. Props for not playing into stereotypes.

I'm really digging these new faces man. I hope this makes sense when I say it, but the weird thing is to me the more realistic faces look so much more expressive, like there's more meaning you can glean from looking at them, even though _before_ they had these cartoony faces that hyper emoted. Like Juri was always crazy but with the more realistic face it's so much more readable _how_ crazy. It might be the fact that they're less removed from a real human face now so the expressions will register on a more instinctual level.
I agree. The moment she has those wide smile, she looks so unhinged and caught me off guard at first. It's almost uncanny but not in a bad way; it's the type of uncanny that makes it obvious she's an absolute psycho.
Capcom is really nailing all the new characters, I thought Jamie was already super cool, but Kimberly manages to be even cooler, the overall aesthetic of SF6 is top tier

@@law5121 She can use them without stock, but if you have them they're powered up, i think those chains you can do from one to the other also require the stock, but she can do the Projectile and the Axe Kick without them, as shown in the start of that little showcase.
Kimberly is SUPER sick looking. Really got me interested in the Guy/Zeku playstyles. Juri got me down unapologetically bad though. They ABSOLUTELTY knew what they were doing with her trailer and who they were appealing to.
Kimberly's looking fire. If CVS3 ever happens, she'll be the perfect rival of Isla. That new stage, however, looks CLEAN! Also, Luong would be the perfect rival for Juri. Looking forward to those mods once SF6 lands.
Juri looks even crazier than she did before and I love it! They even brought back Kaisen Dankairaku and made more sadistic with that kick to the face in the end. Kimberly looks great too at first I thought she'd probably be a breackdance type character but very surprised she's a new age Bushinryu character. Street Fighter 6 is shaping up to be really great I just know it.

The way Kimberly utilizes her spray paint cans as smoke bombs and graffiti like a ninja is full of the exaggerated swagger of a black teen. It gives me goosebumps every time I replay this trailer. All kidding aside, yo props to Capcom for Kimberly's design! You can definitely see the heart and soul they carefully put into this character. You can tell that she's Guy's disciple just from the attire alone and her background as a ninja, but GOODNESS the way she utilizes those spray paint cans like a smoke bomb to teleport and her Level 3 to create that graffiti on the floor is so original! [correct me if this was done in other forms of media] I also LOVE her hair and the fact that she's a black Ibuki ("Bushinryu on the scene!"), but in her own way. I just love her character so much! I probably won't main her because I'm not very good with Ibuki, and I hated fighting her, so this love probably won't last long. 🤣🤣🤣 I'm more of a Juri main, which is another story for later. 😏
Juri’s Feng Shui Engine super that makes her ground normals jump cancelable is a new buff for her. I wonder if she has her negative edge low projectile just like SFIV.
They also made it so her fuhas can be used at any time but getting stores will let you use an enhanced version of the move and be able to cancel it into each other
I think she's got the same kick moves from V (so the ground fireball only) but you don't have to do the negative edge thing, nor do you have to charge a stock to use them. You can just always do them and instead you spend stocks to cancel them into each other.

Agreed. The story behind Sean’s character and the way Capcom handled him is disheartening. They literally flip flopped on his character background and put him into obscurity. In SF3: New Generation, he shared the same stage with Alex in New York. His basketball resembles the classic Harlem Globetrotters ball. They basically erased all of that. Alas, people weren’t as enlightened in 1997 as they are now, and I’m sure that Sean ruffled some feathers internally at Capcom as well. But it would still be cool to see him in SF6 as a solid character.
They both look amazing and love their character designs for 6 so far. It really does bring out their personalities with the facial expressions as well. Kim's kit looks just straight fun and although Juri's kit looks very similar I think her style was always distinct to her personality so it fits to keep her the same. I'm equally excited for both characters.
I think when this game comes out, we need to see you do a character breakdown on the whole roster. Walk cycle, grabs, aerials, to even the costumes. Personality is off the charts with SF6.
As game tester based in Tokyo and currently working on this game, it was a difficult thing to keep my mouth shut about all the goodies in this game. But glad you guys got to see some stuff. There are more!! But won’t say a thing cause I love my job.
I miss the tone of psychotic SFIV Juri, but I'm ok with a crazy young chick version with SFIV-like combos. Makes me feel even more confident in what they're doing with this game. Just hope it has an arcade mode...
@@Bigsam4Games Probably just to shake up the meta. This game's gameplay, mechanics, and overall flow is a lot different from SFIV/SFV so it seems they're giving everyone back their tools plus some additional tricks. (Perfect inputs are a huge addition)
I think Kimberly looks amazing and adorable! I love her style and energy and her combos look insanely fun and satisfying to play around with and pull off! As for Juri, while I do think her moves look absolutely great, I'm more interested with her personality; I had figured since Dictator was done for, she wouldn't have that motivation anymore and I was right. Now she feels a lot more like, well... a teenager, you know? I really like that about her.
i'm *so* glad they took from juri's street fighter iv ultra attack. her street fighter v special was so watered down. and kimberly, down to her design, is insane. she's a great addition.
Something I noticed to, the whole jump in medium punch into EX dive kick thing she had in sf4 is also returning, they showcased that in the trailer. I'm glad they decided to make her a hybrid of the two, I just hope whenever she does have some stuff stored it carries over between rounds. Why it didn't in sfv is beyond me
Anti Airs were way more present in sfv and it was likely intentional. So they probably didnt want to have her have it. Especially it being a medium button. ALTHOUGH, I think they shouldve given it to her in the definitive patch. In sf4u she could use it and juggle in the air still as an anti air punish. That fits right in with sfv now because bison has his air juggle jabs

As a Guy main in the Alpha series and SF4 and lifelong fan of any and all ninja characters in fighting games, I'm digging Kimberly's design. Very cool, original design with great homages to Guy and Ibuki in her moveset. Looks like she's gonna be lot of fun to play.

Yeah, we didn't know from the leaked roster if she was going to be main roster or DLC, because Juri is a beloved character of course, and it would make sense for them to hold her back for DLC, but I'm glad they made her a release character, solid choice.

Seems like they're continuing where SF3 left off, thematically speaking. More modern/urban west influences, hip hop and jazz inspired music, etc.
Technically speaking, Luke is also a SF6 newcomer. And with him being the only miss, they’re 2 for 3 so far.

Juri looks even crazier than she did before and I love it! They even brought back Kaisen Dankairaku and made more sadistic with that kick to the face in the end. Kimberly looks great too at first I thought she'd probably be a breackdance type character but very surprised she's a new age Bushinryu character. Street Fighter 6 is shaping up to be really great I just know it.

The way Kimberly utilizes her spray paint cans as smoke bombs and graffiti like a ninja is full of the exaggerated swagger of a black teen. It gives me goosebumps every time I replay this trailer.
All kidding aside, yo props to Capcom for Kimberly's design! You can definitely see the heart and soul they carefully put into this character. You can tell that she's Guy's disciple just from the attire alone and her background as a ninja, but GOODNESS the way she utilizes those spray paint cans like a smoke bomb to teleport and her Level 3 to create that graffiti on the floor is so original! [correct me if this was done in other forms of media] I also LOVE her hair and the fact that she's a black Ibuki ("Bushinryu on the scene!"), but in her own way. I just love her character so much! I probably won't main her because I'm not very good with Ibuki, and I hated fighting her, so this love probably won't last long. 🤣🤣🤣 I'm more of a Juri main, which is another story for later. 😏

I think she's got the same kick moves from V (so the ground fireball only) but you don't have to do the negative edge thing, nor do you have to charge a stock to use them. You can just always do them and instead you spend stocks to cancel them into each other.

Agreed. The story behind Sean’s character and the way Capcom handled him is disheartening. They literally flip flopped on his character background and put him into obscurity. In SF3: New Generation, he shared the same stage with Alex in New York. His basketball resembles the classic Harlem Globetrotters ball. They basically erased all of that.
Alas, people weren’t as enlightened in 1997 as they are now, and I’m sure that Sean ruffled some feathers internally at Capcom as well. But it would still be cool to see him in SF6 as a solid character.

They both look amazing and love their character designs for 6 so far. It really does bring out their personalities with the facial expressions as well. Kim's kit looks just straight fun and although Juri's kit looks very similar I think her style was always distinct to her personality so it fits to keep her the same. I'm equally excited for both characters.

I think Kimberly looks amazing and adorable! I love her style and energy and her combos look insanely fun and satisfying to play around with and pull off!
As for Juri, while I do think her moves look absolutely great, I'm more interested with her personality; I had figured since Dictator was done for, she wouldn't have that motivation anymore and I was right. Now she feels a lot more like, well... a teenager, you know? I really like that about her.

Something I noticed to, the whole jump in medium punch into EX dive kick thing she had in sf4 is also returning, they showcased that in the trailer. I'm glad they decided to make her a hybrid of the two, I just hope whenever she does have some stuff stored it carries over between rounds. Why it didn't in sfv is beyond me
Anti Airs were way more present in sfv and it was likely intentional. So they probably didnt want to have her have it. Especially it being a medium button. ALTHOUGH, I think they shouldve given it to her in the definitive patch. In sf4u she could use it and juggle in the air still as an anti air punish. That fits right in with sfv now because bison has his air juggle jabs

As a Guy main in the Alpha series and SF4 and lifelong fan of any and all ninja characters in fighting games, I'm digging Kimberly's design. Very cool, original design with great homages to Guy and Ibuki in her moveset. Looks like she's gonna be lot of fun to play.
