The sponsors/organisers of these tournaments have a lot to do with these antics we see.The needle draws the crowds, and the cash flows in.Can you imagine how sterile it would be,if everyone just threw their darts,then quietly shook hands at the end? It's no different to the carry on you often have,when boxers have a press conference,and start lunging at each other. It helps to sell the fight.
The needle doesnt draw the crowd, couldnt be more wrong, people dont go to dart events to hope for a bit of fighting from people on the stage, they go because its a good atmosphere and to watch some darts because they love it, some people go to get pissed up and for a good time without a care for the darts but most of these arenas are packed out with genuine fans, so the "needle" has absolutley nothing to do with crowds.
Am a huge Anderson fan but I think he was wrong to act like this .The man is my sporting hero but Gurney is a nice guy who was still full of praise for Gary after the match.
It's just bs how everyone is trying to make a new Justin Pipe out of Daryl Gurney. He didn't do anything so stfu. Anderson played a 79 ave and if that was Daryls fault he must have been screaming all game long.
Pipe is my example because he was accused of having coughed on purpose (against Bernie Smith I believe) and thus receiving a lot of hate lately. I personally think it's bs.

I cannot agree about Gurney whatsoever. Also Cadby is very loud after his throw which is annoying but even MVG does that alot to irritate his opponents and noone cares.
@@TheRayFrom1989 no he doesn't. van Gerwen does it against the crowd, as he walks towards the board. Watch any match of Cadby and you'll know why i dislike him. MvG doesn't slow down or celebrates 5 minutes before carrying on. Cadby is the worst, followed by Dolan and Price. Pipe can't be put in that list just because has a slow playing style. It helps him focus better, like Suljovic and he also claims it's from an accident he suffered years ago.
Gurney the man with the personality of a house brick. I know Anderson had a stinker but I can't see him kicking up a fuss over nothing. There's got to be something to it I think.
Keith Williamson Not always I’ve seen Ando lose his temper over things that didn’t happen before, still a big fan of Gary but he does sometimes lose it over nothing, I’ve seen Gary have a go at Adrian Lewis for standing in the exclusion zone but video footage shows that he was nowhere near it
What does being from N.ireland have to do with it his sportmanship is terrible did not see this game so cant comment on what happened but watching previous matches of gurney i can see why he is in the spotlight for the wrong reasons again !
if Gurney had been mumbling behind him, Gary Anderson wouldnt have waited until the end of the match to kick off about it thats for sure.
It's a shame really,as i've always found Gary treats his opponents,with the utmost respect.

Whatever Gurney allegedly did, it seems pretty tame in comparison to his, frankly, ridiculous antics against Whitlock last year.
