This is great. My first thought is that you could paint some shadowing on the underside to simulate the depth of the water when they are placed on the mats.
Just another example of your brilliance coming through! Modular waterways--sooo helpful for a wargame board that can be used repeatedly in different configurations! Neat and simple, but not cheesy with it's appearance! I'm thinking that your creations rival that Dwarven Forge company for dungeon and cavern materials at the merest fraction of cost! PLUS...your items can be used for FRP games AND miniature wargames, a great "bang for the buck!"
Perfect timing! Just was thinking some modular water would be really helpful. Great work as always. Your cavern made me realize I really needa get working on my cave wall set.
Love it, something new to track down on my weekly supply run! The reservoir pools looked sweet on the board too, loved those wooden dams, any chance of a video of those in the Future?
Ok, thanks. Hope this works. I'm building an entire town with a cemetery that leads to a haunted prison, all on a table in 3d, there's a pond next to the prison that I'm going to try and use this teqnique for. Thanks for the help.
theDMsCraft I couldn't find report covers so I used organizer tabs. Even though they have some texture, they are not frosted. I will search for the frosted report covers. Thanks for your help.
I do like the cheap and quick stuff you do, but I feel like these water pieces need to be darker/murkier to really work. They just look cheap, where the rest of your stuff looks pretty good even though its not. I'm not trying to troll, because you've got some really awesome stuff (especially the purple worm)

Or cut out 2 identically shaped pieces, paint the under piece with darker colors (and no rocks) and place it under the top piece.

Thank you, I had been looking for a good looking, simple, and cheap way to make water for the table top and this is just what I need.
You just found it...welcome aboard. Be sure to check out more of my vids.
The epic shot of the river was almost as badass as a Sergio Leone shot! You sir are an outstanding American!!
Thanks much =)

I recognized the adventure! Cool
Konrad Ferlangen Nice =)
Man I needed this about 3;months ago so stealing this for my games and warmachine!!!
Looks suspiciously like cragmaw hideout! Nice water effect
Oh man I thought that looked like Cragmaw Hideout! This would have been so cool when we did that encounter
it was =)
Dude this is pure gold
Why thank you
that is really cool especially for that module that you used it with
This is such a great idea.
Is there anything hot glue can't do? Can it mend my broken heart?
Yes.

Yep I will have a vid on those. The gates lift up too =)
Sweet!
I was wondering, instead of the report covers could you use wax paper?
+Nathaniel Garth That might work...just not sure if the wax paper would bunch up or not
Will page protectors work too? Maybe too slick?
This is so cheap and easy compared to other methods of crafting water terrain.
Truth
Sun Catchers transparent paint are great for water effects.
great tip
Mmmm. I think I recognize that cave layout. From mines of Phandelver. The Cragmaw Hideout maybe?
Nice eye...sure is!
Nice!
how would you do this if you wanted a more murky swampy look to it?
+WarVet Gaming Just paint some greens and browns on it.

+WarVet Gaming Very cool!
Awesome!
Thanks, glad you liked it.
Roderick on wild?
Why isn't my paint sticking to the plastic? What can I do to make it stick? Btw, love this channel! I'm not the Dm, but the crafter for my DM.
What kind of plastic are you using? I used frosted report covers so the paint had something to stick to as well as give the water its translucency.

I am loving this channel ^_^ .
Glad to hear it have fun.
theDMsCraft How many players do you think should be the max for a DnD Game?
I would say 6 players and one DM.
Thats what I was thinking, I am starting a DnD Group but one of my friends keep inviting people lol. So now theres 8.
8 can be very tough to run. This is especially true for new DM's. Maybe you could make 2 groups of 4 and play at different times.
roderick needs to be reminded that playing in the water is also bathing, then he will stop...
I like 2.5d next, but I think it is more work at the table, :/
But I might use this for 2.5d and just place them on the tiles, I like the idea alot.
Why not?
could you sell some stuff like cavern packs or forests cause they take so long

Before you cut the water just make a lightly watered down brown for depth
Gone wild*
I'll give you a like for crossing yer arms, thumbs up, every time you ask for a like.
Thanks man.
I see you took my idea with using hot glue to make water . I find this is the cheapest way to make a water feature way to go
