    Thanks! I've been looking for a simple way to convert SVG's, just ones I want to extrude and this fits the bill! So now I have to learn another software...there goes next week!:) I find that 3D printing can be quite handy for my craft room!

    HELLO Gentleperson, I take it that I can use tinkercad to convert to 3D and save the finished image and import this to eather /vectic or easel for my router based CNC. Do I need to use this Slicer software also? Thanks for the help. PS, is there a video on modifing the image. example: I have an image of my US Navy logo and I would like to make the eagles wings bend outward? can I do this?

    Excellent video. Do you have one for creating part using multiple photos of the object from all angles?

      Thank you. Sadly that's not possible in this software and would likely (to my understanding) require a lot of manually editing in something like Blender.

    Great video, but could you tell me did you create the SVG file on a transparent background and what size did you reduce your SVG down to to get it into Tinkercad as mine is coming out as a solid piece with no detail.

      As far as I am aware, unless you apply a background, the default is transparent.

      @@GentlemanCrafterUK thanks. And what size did you reduce the file down to please?

    The file I am trying to convert is too big for TinkerCad. Any advice?

    awesome video ... but i have a problem... i converted a picture to svg and when i try to convert the svg file to stl it loses a lot of sharpness and isn't as good as it should be :( any fix?

    • @GentlemanCrafterUK
      @GentlemanCrafterUK  ปีที่แล้ว

      The loss of sharpness will be down to the way it was converted from a picture into an SVG file I imagine.

    tried this in 2020 (jun) and it won't work. works with a svg of as tar from inkscape, anything like the doily you made and tinkercad just says error importing.

      Strange, still works for me. Tested @ 09:51 GMT 07/06/2020

      what format are you saving in? in inkscape I have found I have to save in optimised and remove the XML (inkscape SVG and plain svg did not work for designs except basic stars etc.)

    • @GentlemanCrafterUK

      @@dragonlord0666 I saved as Plain SVG. If you are using Inkscape, Inkscape SVG. Inkscape SVG saves additional information like shading and line properties that are not easily read by other software. Plain SVG has worked for me this morning.

      @@GentlemanCrafterUK I tried plain svg but that still did not work for the design I made, kind of moroccan screen (they all worked for the simple star) but tinkercad just came up with error importing (not really helpful) after a while and would not load the svg - only optimised svg and ticking the remove XML worked - I'm using inkscape 1.0 on mac (mojave)

      Well, at last you have a workaround. Good to know in case others come across the same issue.
