Those are standard size for those waters. Those are eating sized. Yes yellowfin get much bigger but not everyone wants a 400lb tuna. More fun to catch and not as loaded with mercury.

@@Catchyalater_Fishing_Co yeah we catch southern California bluefin. Biggest we had was 386lb. That's always the worst when you can't get the gaf in time. I'd love one if those Atlantic bluefin. I work up in Alaska now and the fishing up here is straight up boring. Salmon halibut and rockfish. Boring. I want to throw irons at some yellowtail so bad.

I've been working on charter and commercial boats here off the east coast of Florida for over 30 years.
To me personally.....I hardly ever wear gloves and when I do it's usually just on my left hand...the one I grab the fish with.
As far as leadering the trolling lines by hand....I do that barehanded as I don't have gloves getting in my way.
I don't have a problem cutting my hands because if the fish runs...that line is out of my hands quickly.
Most guys who work for a living dont have soft hands anyway, shit mine are calloused up like leather!
