Got the placepot up on gold cup day this year was waiting on cashew King ridden by T Wall in the county hurdle it won it got me around £1900 pound for £2 happy days. Thanks for putting these races on
I love watching these, especially the novice hurdles and seeing old familiar names popping up. I'm always checking for the next one to be uploaded, wonderful 😊
Back when it was a 3 day festival and all were competitive races. Top hurdlers went Champion hurdle or Stayers hurdle and best chasers Champion Chase or Gold Cup. Thanks for uploading 👍🏻
This is a great upload. Look at the size of the fields, incredible. Now a complaint, though not about this upload. By 1988 Peter O'Sullevan should have been nowhere near racing commentary. Loads of us at the time knew it, but it became something close to blasphemy to suggest that perhaps he should move on. Listen to his commentary on the Champion Hurdle here. Constantly mixing up Celtic Chief and Celtic Shot, not tracking Classical Charm until very late and not giving an accurate depiction of what was happening. This deterioration in his commentary had been evident for a number of years. Although people remember his 'the mare's beginning to get up' for Dawn Run's Gold Cup, the rest of his commentary for that race is really really weak, and I'm being kind there. Anyway, enjoyed this piece of history.
@@HorseRacingLegends That's a fair point. My argument would be is that his best was a very very long time before he retired. I thought some of his commentaries by 1985/6 were awful and yet he went on for another 10 years.
Thanks for your reply yes she was earlier I knew the bro of Mick. Bolton, I think she won the Rosebury on the flat. Her breeding was French,. Loped eared and lovely as Clive Graham said Happy new year to you and family.

Great punting Maximus and good to hear from you.
@@HorseRacingLegends thanks
Love big wins ❤
It seemed like every time I did a placepot the last race always let me down.
@davidrobinson2776 yes that usually happens

Thank you so much.
How times have changed, there are more runners in this race than the whole of day 1 runners at the festival these days.
Yes.It will come round again though.Hopefully back to 3 Days.
Remember the M Rimmell interview giving confidence we were on the right Celtic which of course we weren't
lol.He won at Aintree though.

Very harsh on the Great man but yes mistakes were starting to creep in late in his career but at his best he was wonderful.

Yes it’s hard to disagree with that.
Reluctant Pal and called Vagador the winner and third, Pearly Prince, horrible!!
The 'he's beggining to get up' commentary was for Desert Orchid not Dawn Run
Hope they have some racing, including the mare Wilhelmina Henrietta.
She was much Earlier and was trained by the first woman to train 100 Winners.
