I like how many parallels can be drawn between this opening and the opening of Phantom Blood. Both JoJos are defending someone weaker than themselves from two scumbags, but how they act and how the fights end are very different. The moment Jonathan sees those two bullies picking on Erina, he immediately jumps in and attacks the two of them without a second thought. It's only after he gets his shit kicked in by the two of them that we get a look at the gentleman persona that his hot-blooded actions completely contradict with. Here, Joseph initially goes out of the way to work out some kind of compromise with the two corrupt cops while putting up a pretense of good manners. But the moment the cops get on his nerves, it completely gives way to a brash, cocky, confident, and arrogant fighter that completely wipes the floor with two armed men. Finally, both JoJos use the element of surprise when they attack, but while Jonathan just blindsides the bullies, Joseph comes out of nowhere with a straight hook to the face before breaking the other cop's finger with a soda cap. Not sure if any of this was intentional, but if it was, then I truly respect how Araki used both intros to make the parallels between Joseph and Jonathan clear.

Also, there's a parallelism between Joseph and George: Joseph had his wallet stolen by Smokey, while Dario stole George's ring Both Joseph and George tried to cover their robbers in the same way (Joseph said he gave his wallet Smokey, and George told to the police the ring Dario stole was a gift)
Hamon is pretty much Black Panther's vibranium or Tony Stark's tech they're BS they can do whatever the f*ck the users want and it doesn't have to make sense.
I totally went "GIN-SAN" the first time, and now it's become Joseph's nickname (similarly, Dio is also known in my book as "Shinsuke-sama" because of his VA).

He absolutely is. He's the only JoJo to be both a Hamon user and a Stand user, and his personality perfectly reflects the ridiculousness of the series while still being awesome.
Keep in mind there were no more Pillar men around for him to be using it. The Hamon wouldn't hurt Dio in part 3 as much. Because he has Jonathan's body which has the combine power Jonathan and Zeppeli. So… yeah.

The scene was obviously better in manga. I appreciated that Araki wrote this scene as a British person standing up for an African American against corrupt white cops (1939 america correctly depicted by a Japanese guy...go figure). But the scene is still great.
