Love your reaction my mom and grandma were huge Elvis fans. I grew up my whole life with Elvis. In 1996 at 12 I realized just how handsome and talented he was. I walked in my mom and grandma were watching Loving You and I was standing there with my mouth hung open in awe of this sexy man. So they paid to take me to Myrtle Beach SC to see an Elvis impersonator. He was amazing not as good as the real Elvis but as close as I could get in 1996. They paid for us to be on the side of the stage on the front row. They even paid for me a kiss on the cheek from him while he was performing. I thought I would die right there. I can only imagine and dream of kissing the real Elvis.

Elvis really LOVED his fans. He said if it were for the fans, he be nothing. Elvis was the ONLY one who went out in the audience and kissed his fans. Back then women wanted and men wanted to be him. When Elvis was alive, he gave away more than half his fortune to charity and just individual people. Elvis was just pure love. ❤❤❤

He loved his fans and they loved him. He shook the guys hands, kissed the gals, and received a necklace from someone at the beginning in which he showed them twice he still had it. That was a person that had a lot of love for people. He was not only the king of Rock & Roll, but was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Country Hall of Fame and the Gospel Hall of Fame.

After he was more popular and moved into Graceland, he would still go down to the wall or the gate out front and greet fans. He once found a fan swimming in his pool...just told the fan to be careful and went back inside. One fan made it inside the mansion. She was told Elvis (who was upstairs in his room) wasn't home, and was escorted to the gate.

  • @margarettaylor8107
    @margarettaylor8107 3 ปีที่แล้ว +25

This song is the name of his first movie.Everybody except teenagers and his entertainer peers, musicians who idolized him, hated him before his military service. When he returned in 1960 from the army, the entire world worshipped, respected and admired him.He could have not gone in, but he was patriotic He thought the two service years would end his recent popularity and success.Instead is was 360 degrees the opposite.I lived through Michael , the Beatles, and everyone after Elvis. They cannot come close to how popular Elvis was. Besides the male beauty and talent, charisma, we loved him for the human being he was.He always said "the image is one thing, the man is another. He wanted to be loved for the person he was and not the image. And we did and we do.

    • @jennywren7822

@@jennywren7822 Well we will continue to disagree Jenny. He was destined to die young. His mom and many other family members died young. His dad was not old either. All three died from a heart attack..a familial predisposition.. Look at Johnny Cash..a major alcholic and drug addicted all through his life..and very famous. He lived to be old on spute of his fame and addictions. When it is our time to go, our genetically predisposed medical conditions will get you everytime.

We will continue to disagree, but kindly 🤗.
We have one thing in common and that will never die, we both loved a man we didn't know who died too young.

    • @margarettaylor8107
      @margarettaylor8107 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@jennywren7822 Yes very true Jenny. I was judging Johnny by his looks but Johnny did live close to the average age to die. Jenny, the reason I answer comments about his death is this..so many Elvis haters such as Joe Grogan, the many youtube bad Elvis videos and the anti Elvis commentors etc ridicule everything about Elvis. It seems like they never cease to find something new to belittle him. Elvis was so much more than his manner of death but somehow even Elvis fans manage to bring this up. Since there is so much hate on him by Elvis haters, I think we ardent fans should not add fuel to their raging fire.As the word fan connotes, we should discuss his benefitting us as a humanitarium and his music..the good stuff which there was plenty of. By doing this we fans can help negate what the Elvis haters put out. Since he is not here to defend himself, it is up to us fans to defend him ; thus we can get the real story out, the real Elvis. When we fans make comments about our deceased loved ones, we do not focus on their death but on fond memories if their lives.Elvis deserves the same but somehow he is treated differently..We do not focus on their faults and flaws. If we want his legacy to continue, we can aid that by outting out the good and letting Elvis haters put out their negativity. He was a good man and deserves his real life's accomplishments to be his overwhelming image.I hope you agree and join me with putting out good comments on him. I just watched Globetrotting with Trey today. He and the Spa Guy youtube channels have so many fun videis about Elvis' life. If you do not view them, I recommend them highly.Today, Trey visuted Elvis performance in 1956 in Memphis before a huge crowd. Barbara Ohearn and his mom and dad were in the audience.Fun to watch videis about his life. There is another one I love.. it is Scotties' reaction channel..great viewing. If you can tolerate swearing BlaccElvis has a great channel. Do you have any you can recommend?

      @@margarettaylor8107
      I agree wholeheartedly Margaret.
I don't have any channels, in fact I didn't know there were any.
Now just let me have my say please, I am not criticising Elvis at all or belittling him.
Margaret the man was in such a dark place, he was spontaneous and got bored very very easily, can you imagine how he was stuck in a round and round situation, always the same, singing the same songs over and over again, it must have been hell on earth, and also pressure from Parker to work because of his gambling addiction.
Depression is unforgiving I know I've been there, not wanting to live because there's no way out, death is the only way to stop the reality and pain.
Unsolved Mysteries on his death and drug addiction has been on here again recently, and favours suicide. Remember that book on his true life and addiction to drugs was coming out days later, his squeaky clean image was threatened, how could he do concerts with everything out in the open, he was losing his reputation, he couldn't cope with that. There was nobody in the house except his daughter in her bedroom and Ginger in bed asleep, probably after taking sleeping pills.
Nobody to find him till it was too late, he knew what he was doing, he hadnt taken the first 2 attacks as they were called that day, WHY, he was surrounded by tablets and syringes on the bathroom floor, when he was found. These are facts Margaret.
I know I've been in that dark place more than once, but not brave enough to do anything, and I didn't have the pressures that he had, he was already being laughed at without the book coming out.
His reputation and adoring fans were the only things he had left.
Put yourself in his awful life, what would you do? He had no life to leave.
Just one last thing, Elvis was out of it on the bed, Parker rushed in and into his bedroom, came out and said 'the only thing that matters is you get that man onto that stage tonight'
That poor beautiful man, who did so much for others couldn't take it any more, he died when his mother died.
He's at peace now, hopefully with his adored mother and his twin....

    cars, jewelry, animals,
    paid medical expenses,
    hospital bills, bought
medical equipment , ...the list is long. As for his fans...the love between them and Elvis was strong from the beginning and remains today. He thought no one would remember him....forget Elvis?

I grew up in the 1960’s and 1970’s and I don’t remember anyone thinking twice about Elvis kissing his fans-it was seen as just a sweet thing that he did. You have to remember that this was before a big concern about germs. I think the way Elvis kisses his fans was seen kinda like how the French and Italians greet people with a kiss. Elvis was the first concert I ever went to and all the girls wanted a kiss and the guys wanted to shake his hand.❤

There are so many things to be said about this not many artists did things like this because for example The Beatles were always running from screaming girls but at this point Elvis's a little older but still in great shape and he's just showing love to his adoring audience and he always also made his band members feel connected and a part of it. He was an extraordinary Talent. Born into poverty and never forgot it.

At one of his concerts I think it was the 1973 hawaii concert. He gave out scarfs to the girls in the front of the stage. One pulled one away from a younger girl so what did he do?😄 He called to the young girl and motioned to her to come to him. He then took his necklace off and put it on the girl and yelled to the police security to make sure no one takes it from her. He was truly a one of a kind class act.😁👏👏👏♥️✌️🙏R.I.P. E.P.

When Elvis sang Love Me Tender at his concert it was when he would let women, men come up to him. He'd shake hands, kiss, acknowledge anyone that headed toward the stage and wanted to meet him. He would even walk thru the crowd as well giving out kisses while he sang this. Tradition if you will. Just a bit of trivia. I'm a huuuuge fan. Met him 1 time when I was 6. I still remember it. elvis was pure catnip for the entire female genode! to be that incredibly drop-dead gorgeous while being kind, never condescending or rude to anyone, humble and sweet in combination with being sexy and having an incredible voice that you use to sing love songs to women... of course the women will go mad!

If you got that Sensation from that song Love Me Tender and the way that it all come off there, you have got to watch him do the same song on the 1968 Comeback Special. You will come away from that song with a completely different feel. And that special his voice was absolutely incredible and when he sings Love Me Tender it will take you away and then blow you away. You're one of my favorite people on these here by the way I just thought I'd throw that in there don't go getting a big head or nothing but you know.

By the time that this concert film was made in 1970 , Cissy Houston left the Sweet inspirations. She was with him for the 1969 season only. The rest of the Sweets performed with Elvis until his last concert 7 years later.

This was Elvis at his very best in 1970, the humor, the effort he put into his songs and his entire attitude. He was on top of the world and enjoying being Elvis Presley. He did some pretty good performances in the following years before his death, but most of the concert years were a slow decline in energy and quality. The songs got shortened and he began to lack the energy he had put into them from 1969 to 1972. A thousand times and a thousand more I have wished that he would have sought help for the drug problem. If he had done so I have no doubt that he could have been doing shows of this quality when he was in his fifties.

If you look at the audience you see a lot of diversity. And everyone getting along.
It's pretty shocking how far backwards we have gone in the past 12 years. We have let the media divide us with lies and half-truths. I sure wish Elvis were still around.

No other artist has ever done it and that’s why I did this day Elvis Presley still has the Fanbase you’ll never see another artist and has the Fanbase and I love Michael Jackson but he doesn’t even have the fan base that Elvis Presley does this day do you see for 180,000 people a year are going to Graceland imagine that and he’s been dead since 1977 that’s how much he was loved because he loved his fans and he showed me love them that’s just by kissing him he put on the greatest performances I’ve ever seen in my life and I’ve seen hundreds hundreds and 75 years old from Woodstock 19You can’t name a notice that I didn’t see in concert Pink Floyd Lynyrd Skynyrd Led Zeppelin Nazis rock ‘n’ roll Otis Redding Jackie Wilson The Commodores there is an anybody that I haven’t seen Ok and let me tell you something Elvis there nobody put on a show like Elvis is the queen

Thank you again for reading the comments and I meant to say because Siri for some reason doesn’t say the right thing it writes what it wants to but it’s 480,000 people a year to go to Graceland to see is home not 180,000 I’m sorry about that I can’t help it because Siri can’t understand or do anything about the stupid writing Liz the queen

Whitney Houston mom, Cissy Houston wasn't one of the backup singers in 1970 in Vegas. She isn't on any of the 1970 Elvis videos but she did work for him a lot.

Cissy Houston only sang with Elvis for a short time. She sang with the 'Sweet Inspirations' from July 31 to August 28, 1969. This was filmed in August 1970. About the boyfriends being jealous of Elvis kissing all of the women, I have a story from a woman I know. She was there, and she got a kiss from Elvis that night. Later in her hotel room, she didn't want to kiss her husband. He had to remind her that HE was her husband, not Elvis. LOL

Many generations of blacks disliked him because they were told he was racist, but that couldn't be further from the truth. The blacks that actually knew Elvis did not feel that way. He protected his black backup singers and if they weren't treated with respect than he didn't perform. When they called him boss, he told them he wasn't their boss and that he was their brother. If he were alive today, he would be a huge influence on getting people right with all this race issue going on. We need to just all appreciate each other and get along.
