finding someone with a magic circuit or 2 wouldnt be that hard, just that natural circuits that lay dormant a long time tend to suck.
shirou suffers from the atrophy probem but was born with 27 circuits wich even for an average magus family is pretty darn good, for refference rin was born with 40 and was considered a once a century prodigy.
granted he might have *some* mystical lineage from muramasa and prolly an inborn affinity for smithing but no one knows that.
point is he would prolly garner a lot of jellly from the clocktower bottom feeders that arent waver

Yeah, Shirous circuits can only handle ~10 units of power (that damages them in the process) while tohsaka’s circuits can handle ~1000 units of magical energy. Shirou has an above average amount of really weak circuits
@@yesno7284 Shirou has atrophied circuits that were average quality.Due to not being used for majority of his lifetime they have been degraded, kind of like Muscles.If they were used at full capacity or refined they 'd be usable.Look at Emiya .As a servant he has B rank in mana which is 40 times the mana capacity of your average mage.If he wasnt spending most of it being anchored to the world and incarnated in a physical body by any instance he'd coincidentally have an even greater capacity than rin.Though i do admit that is probably because of his deal with Alaya in his life that buffed him up

@@Ohimeshinso Nah isn't possible.Rhongominiad would generate an absurd amount of magical energy that would be noticeable from a mile away ,Plus unlike artoria Gray cannot use it without Rescinding it's 13 Seals lest she risk Divine spirit conversion and we get a second case of Goddess Rhongoniniad.Infact it's already quite dangerous given that her mind is covered in a "haze" when she uses the Lance in it's true form.

The height comparison works really well. As over time, people naturally get taller and families naturally get more Magic Circuits. You can try to get more but that's extremely dangerous (like bone lengthening surgeries).

Not realy. Shirou is just not naturally born with good circuits unlike Rin. Technically, he was using his own nerves to compensate to the requirement of even casting Reinforcement Magic, which is by itself, a basic-ass magecraft. He has fewer magic circuits properly channel Mana.
The story wouldn't change that much, Shirou would probably win more fights and the story would be shorter

I think that he just has low quality circuits. He trained wrong sort of destroying his progress everytime he trained his magecraft so it’s like muscles that were never used so they atrophied but his circuit qualities would always be low

He has also always been able to see this “thing” around him. We don’t know what this is, but it sounds like a very ominous being.
He also once broke through multiple powerful bounded fields just to eavesdrop on a meeting.
He nearly killed Alkides.
So yeah, he’s a beast. Even Touko, who has EX quality and B quantity is seen as an utter monster.
Samuka Jabateh Yeah, I, too, have read that. In worlds where Flat does not meet Waver, he becomes a threat that only the Counter Force can deal with.
This makes sense, since we know that some mages are above the level of servants ask Flat is possible the mage with the single most potential in the world, right now.
Also, I hypothesise that the entity he sees is possibly the hooded figure Aoko and others see. It’s sort of an emissary of the world. When it shows up, it serves as a warning to Aoko: “yo, if you continue to use that power, you will become an enemy of the world.”
Samuka Jabateh I don’t know that it is a counter guardian. It doesn’t act like a counter guardian usually would. I think it’s just an emissary of the world and, if the world saw it in its best interest to do so, it might lend him a hand

The stupid thing with magic circuits in Fate is not how they work, it's how mages treat them. From the end of the age of gods til today it's just as the video says "you lose the magical lottery? sucks to be you!"
There's no dedicated movement within clocktower, no one thinking "hey, maybe we could try to make good magical circuits affordable for the entirety of humanity? Maybe we could find a way to make it less of a fucking game of luck?"(At least til El melloi II arrives, but even then..). Nah, it's all me me me and fuck the rest then they complain that magic is dying in the modern day! Well yeah fucko; if you stopped being a selfish, high and mighty prick you'd not have to worry of having your bloodline die because no one is suitable to inherit your magic crest.

The more people practice magecraft the weaker it gets and the old families aleardy have a lot of circuits on top of generations of study on a certain subject that consumes their time.
Having everyone gain acces to magecraft or even growing the number of magus by a little would actually harm their own magecraft.
On top of that even if they did and succeded it will be a cold day in hell before they think of sharing it with anyone else.
Magus are naturally very selfish and amoral people. The good ones we see in fate series? They are the minority.

Rin: has 100 magical circuits that channels 1000 points of magical energy
so this is why Mages prioritize bloodlines and Magic crest oh and the average joe is born with 20 Circuits Shirou's extra comes from his own projection magic

So, as far as I know in my very lay understanding of this: You run your magical energy through your circuits Od/Mana whatever, turn it into usable magical energy... something happens, connect to a foundation-wut?, spell structure and magical energy manipulation with self-hypnosis, dash of fairy dust= profit.
Circuits are confusing. I know Shirou has 27, more than the average, but I was never clear is he had a total capacity of 10, or if each circuit had a capacity of 10 for a total of 270. Which actually sounds amazing if his circuits are supposed to be atrophyed from disuse. He has 25-35 units of Od to play with which is average,
Then comes Rin with 40 circuits for a total of 1000 units, or 25 a pop. No idea if this includes her crest, which couldn't help much as her family is only a measly 5-6 generations. Plus 500 whopping units of Od, the show-off.

@@JohnDoe-wn7vi It is literally stated by Archer in UBW. Reopening the circuits is what messes up his body and Archer helping him through it leads to Shiro having more to work with.

@@JohnDoe-wn7vi as far as I understand it: Kiritsugu died without teaching that much magecraft to Shirou and he was never taught how to properly train his magic circuits so most of them were never activated, he was pretty much undoing any progress he did with training his circuits, so as he grew up those circuits were, perhaps atrophied is not the best word but you could say dormant think of it like this if you try to walk with your leg muscles atrophied you’re likely going to fall, likewise with numb legs, one situation still has a “healthy” limb but the end result is the same you fall. So Shirou has no access to these circuits and he has no idea how to use them or that he even has them he can’t feel them he has no training in directing magic through them.
They might not be atrophied in the sense that they were changed by disuse but they were very much like a limb someone have never used regardless of how strong or weak it is it has no muscle memory no ingrained nerve pathways, it’s why babies take so long to learn to walk without looking goofy. So when Shirou started “activating” those circuits it caused him pain he had no idea how to use them so he hurt them.
As to what archer did to him my way of understanding is that he simply made the direct connection between their magic circuits and their magic and them being the same person Shirou simply got archers entire experience of how to activate these circuits, in the previously analogy he got all his muscle memory, just like what happens when they’re fighting it was the direct contact between their magic circuits that caused it.

See, this is what makes fate in general just a complete vague mind fuck in trying to understand how things work. Magic circuits, looks like a nervous system, but instead is a metaphysical concept more to do with spiritualism. What did Nasu have to gain from making this so hard for the common folk to figure out. 😭 loved the video by the way, does help me work some out, so thank you
PS: if it's at all possible, could you maybe do a video about the types of elements and what spells can be used with each? Because they're confusing as all hell also.

0:37 Quick question. If one were to lose an arm or a leg, would they lose the Circuits in that area as well? Or would they still be there, just floating in the general area where the arm should be? I'm not talking about the Crest, just the inborn Circuits.
I ask because of how Archer's arm affects Shirou's body in the Heaven's Feel Route.
From what i understand is that circuits are directly connect with the soul so even if you got arm cut off you would still have same of circuit amount

I still don‘t understand the amount of magic circuits. I‘m playing actual Fate Stay night and I‘m in the fate route at the end of day 8, when Rin gives Shirou the jewel to forcefully activate his switches.
In these scene, Thosaka speak to Shirou like he creates new Magic circuits each time an risk his life with it. (The exact speech is „ You only have to make the Magic Circuit once. But you‘re trying to make the Magic Circuit from scratch and build it into you every time.“)
How does this fit with the information, that every Magus has a fix amount of magic circuits? In Shirous Case, 27 Circuits.

So, I made a OC who's a homunculus which was created using the genes of several different mage families to maximize his inbuilt magic circuits and other magical abilities, but his nervous system, blood vessels, muscles, bones, and his lymphatic system are all engraved with additional artificial circuits and all of his base and artificial circuits have been beefed up even further like they were juicing on unicorn piss and LSD. The end result is a mage that is so incredibly potent that in the fictional grail war he takes place in he is going toe to toe with other servants when using his codex the beletung armory (beletung is based of the German translation for lightning beleuchtung) which as the name suggests is an armory which takes the form of a suit of armor and has lightning based abilities such as when electricity is pumped through it magical or not it gives you a strength boost based on the voltage, and other aspects with higher numbers being better. In addition to the armors other lightning based abilities it can manifest weapons and repair itself. One of its strongest abilities, however, is its ability called the beletung incarnation which basically turns the user and the armor into a literal lightning bolt with all the benefits that being a living lightning bolt provides without any of the downsides obviously costing a boat load of magic to even use.
The codex has even more abilities such as generating an electric field which hides the users mana especially rendering a the most powerful mages undetectable, and much more.
In addition to all this the guy decided to break the rules of summoning a servant and basically manually summoned his servants yes two of them, and stuffed their heroic spirits inside mindless homunculi bodies so his servants would basically have their own internal magic production on top of the truck loads of magic he is already dumping into their systems turn his servants into absolute units effectively making energy a non concern for king Arthur and Mordrid which are the two servants he summoned.
Though he is not the only master in the war who is rocking some additional power ups because Sieg returns from the other world to lead Astolfo, Jeane, and Siegfried in the holy grail war, and Sieg still has the ability to turn into a mother ducking dragon. Also, Astolfo and Jeane are just sticking around because of the events in fate/apocrapha, so the only servant Sieg actually summoned is Siegfried with Astolfo and Jeane simply barrowing mana due to their previous attunement to him.
Weird that they care about bloodlines when the circuits are spiritual. If it was physical I could understand having the right mate.

Do servants have circuits
Technically yes, I assume.... Archer is an unusual case, in terms of heroic spirits, but we can use his example as a model for answering your question.
We know this from Heaven's Feel: Archer's arm is attached to Shirou's body, via the magic circuits. Archer's circuits (and their power) are what would fuck Shirou up, if not for the shroud of Martin acting as a seal. Said circuits (when used correctly) are also a major part of what lets Shirou fight to the level he does in HF.
We can assume that some have natural circuits from their lifetime and others are simply given through their nature as mysteries. We have examples of servants that don't have magic circuits tho, such as Artoria who has a magic core instead.

@@launcherx2044 circuits are what mages are born with, artiria pendragon was given dragon blood which became like a core. Dragon's in fate are the top dogs of magical beast, so artiria's magic power is A+ because of it.

The magic circuit or as I kept calling it throughout my entire life so we're basically using magic to Jack into the matrix. I won't be surprised if in the next fate series a person uses their magic circuit to Jack into the matrix and try to create a computer virus to screw over most of the masters lol. Either that or summon some yugioh monsters like in Yugioh Vrains or some shit.

@@MrDarksol He's referring that hakuno (an A.I. that gained sentient) high jacked in to the grail war of the moon cell, and summoning servents is basically yu-gi-oh dual monsters except summoning one monster in a battle royale.

Your average mage has 20 decent ones...... he's got 27 shitty ones. Like, his magical energy output is literally 1% of Rin's.
As for his pact with the world, I'm not sure how that worked out for his circuits in life (pretty sure that's never stated numerically). And once he's a counter guardian, his outputs are obviously gonna be higher, but (IIRC) the number of circuits is still never mentioned.

You didn't explain about quality and quantity stuff like their ranks and all, it is the most confusing part.

Sort of. It depends on quality and amount of Circuits. Someone with a lot of low quality circuits wouldn't be able to channel as much energy as someone with a few high quality circuits. The best example of this is the Aozaki sisters. Both Touko and Aoko only have about 20 Circuits, but their efficiency is so high they can handle more energy than even most of the higher tier mages who have a lot of circuits.
