    I’ve been dabbling in making lotions, body butter, sugar scrubs, lip balms, and bath bombs, etc. but I’d truly love to know how to make my own oil infusions. now that I seen the salt scrub, Kami showed us that also has spiked my interest. Thank you so much for sharing this interview, and the links below. 💜 I love purple tbtw that truly is your colour, Rosalee. 💕

    So enjoying this series! Maybe we should each ask ourselves how herbs give us hope. The ‘lavender moment’ really brings it home. Most folks can’t yell at a partner or kick the dog while walking through a field of lavender. It’s hardly possible. You take that deep breath, your shoulders relax, your walk slows. How peaceful. How refreshing. There’s the hope of herbs . . . that they help us become kinder, gentler people. Thank you, Rosalee,.

    I love the concept of salt glow 😻 salt is an energy field cleanser!
    I studied a little bit pranic healing (energy healing), and in that method they are particularly interested in cleansing negative energy. Salt in bath or as a scrub in shower is seen as a great way for every day cleansing 😊
    I ve been personally often mixing salt and sesami oil for a shower scrub, since thats lovely for nourishing my dry skin (specially in these extremely cold n dry scandinavian winters). Gotta start mixing an herbal aspect into that as well 🐸

    Thanks for all these ideas and recipes. I have two questions: 1. when you rub your body with a soothing herbal oil before you go to sleep, the sheets of the bed must get very oily as well, how do you deal with this? 2. I heard the best oil to get deep into the skin are aminal oils but I’m a vegetarian and I dont llike the smells. Which oil is best to not form a layer on the skin but permeates it well? We were teached that it is in fact the waterbase of lotions that permeate the skin, and the oil forms a protective layer on top of the skin. Not sure this is the correct place to ask these questions ;-). Greetings from Antwerp, Belgium, one week from our holiday to France., looking forward to see the lavender fields again :-)

    • @HerbsWithRosalee
      @HerbsWithRosalee  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like to use jojoba oil on my face and body just before bed. It soaks into the skin readily and isn't oily. I am also not using large amounts at a time. For what it's worth I love sheets and I have expensive sheets, both linen and flannel, and I wouldn't stand for them getting oily!

    Honest question: the spiritual portion of this interview sounds very much like a New Age type of spirituality. Is there a stream of herbalism that more closely aligns with the Christian faith?

    • @HerbsWithRosalee
      @HerbsWithRosalee  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not uncommon for herbalists to have an earth based spirituality, where divinity is seen in all living things and humans are considered a part of nature (not sure about New Age). I have no doubt there are herbalists out there who share herbalism within a Christian framework but I don't know of any off the top of my head.
