I'm a proud owner of a 2023 TLX Type S PMC Edition in Curva Red. It makes me melt every time the garage door goes up. I still can't believe it's mine.
That's so awesome. It's a showing of hard work!!
Your assessment is actually in line with professional reviews. In my opinion, your title is correct- it is a great daily driver. People flaming probably haven't driven it. If one does take it for a test drive, you need to take it on curves to fully appreciate the car. It is extremely comfortable, has a very solid feel, and due to the SH-AWD system, feels lighter than it is. The car is fast enough. It gets up and goes. I think one of the issues was Acura's advertising. People watch a commercial showing the car roaring on a track. As a result, people think it is a "track car". It is not. It is a luxury sedan with a sports flare. The only cars that you could argue as a better value was the Kia Stinger and Genesis G70.
I am sure no professional lol ahaha but that's awesome! I agree with your comment about the advertising. I think the car is somewhat misunderstood.
I cross shopped this with a BMW M240i and had to go with the BMW after test driving both. It was a lot more fun.
BMW is one of the last brands supporting manuals heavily, so I have to give it to them. Interesting to hear for sure.
I understand that manual transmissions are disappearing due to a lack of demand. But, it's such a shame when honda has one of the best manual gearboxes in the game. Especially when some reviews claim the only issue with the Type S is that the auto they use is not that good.
Will take Cadillac ct5 sport all day kids
Do you mean the CT5-V? The sport isn't comparable to this from a performance standpoint.
It’s not an twin turbo it’s an single turbo
Correct
As he said in the video, it's twin *scroll* turbocharged. Twin scroll is a type of turbocharger, it doesn't mean there are two of them
And if he did said that he would have easily explained it that he knows he himself even said correct he’s acknowledging that he made an error that’s how u learn that’s how u grow and till u understand that’s when u truly evolve
M340i >
Not a bad opinion at all
Under power means it will last longer
Right, I would think Honda detuned it like that for a reason.
Just get a Mazda3
It’s just an okay car. It’s too expensive and extremely thirsty compared to everything else in its class. It’s a little down on power but more critically, it has a BIG weight problem. The engine is a gem, adding power doesn’t take much. But removing weight means sacrificing livability. Why even bother with a 4 door if you strip the interior? Styling is subjective; to my eyes, the design grew old pretty quickly after seeing a couple of them on the road…overwrought in typical Japanese fashion with its origami-like creases mixed with organically styled taillights. If they were actually shooting for something only a true Honda fanboy could love then I guess they hit their target but I think there are way better options out there. Reliability is very important and I’m sure it will do reasonably well in that regard but it’s still very tech laden and turbo charged so it’s not going to have the same reliability as Hondas of the past. I personally have no skin in the game, I drive a Tesla. But in this class of sedans I’d take the M340i any day for about the same money.
Very well said here, I respect your opinion. I am, one of those Honda fanboys as you can see aha.
@@SteffanJohal Haha I was harsh, thanks for not taking it personally. 😎
It is one of the best looking sports sedans out there. In addition, it has a very unique look.
M340i is less reliable, worse AWD system, way worse build quality on the interior, worse sound system, way worse seats, and costs 5 thousand dollars more and has LESS features. Yes it’s fast, but the tlx is like .6 seconds slower 0-60 and that only matters if you’re racing constantly. Only people getting the m340i are the ones that truly break the law constantly with speeding, or just throttle happy at stoplight trying to race people who are just trying to drive to work. And your really talking about looks? m340i looks like every single bmw ever made, they really just copy and paste then maybe change a grill design and that’s it
@@Frankguligan256 And as for the sound system, I haven’t listened to either cars sound system but I won’t argue the ELS system is fantastic. I will say though that the HK systems BMW is using are also quite good. I had an F30 335i several years ago and the system in that car was solid. So that’s not a real reason, IMO. And the statement about only caring about having the quicker car if you speed all the time, well that's just overly-simplistic. I bought a Model 3 Performance, largely because of its 3.1 sec 0-60, but that doesn't mean I use it all the time or that I don't respect the law. I drive very conservatively 99% of the time but when I want to use the power, it never disappoints.
No manual.
