Centrifugal Pump Priming Arrangement - How does it Work?

- Almost all centrifugal pumps in engine room must have a priming arrangement to get rid of air from its casing. Such Priming arrangements are usually neglected as the working principle is not commonly known to every watch keeping engineer.
In this video - special attempts have been made to clearly explain the working principle with simple hand drawn diagram.

Super smoothly and evenly has explained
oh god, thank you so much sir for bringing a full stop to my doubt.... do not how to express how happy i am.
Excellent explanation Sir.
Excellent explanation
Very good job sir and thanks for your hardwork👏
Very good
thank you very much for the clear explanation!
Excellent pictorial description....
Thank you sir.
Thanks!
Thank you sir very good explication ❤
Sir can u plz answer how we test the priming unit when we are in fully laden voyage?
Thank you but confusing because it seems very complicated. Can we put the Priming Tank at elevated say 3m above the pump? Also you mention the priming inlet should be at the Suction Pipeline, how far from the pump should this be and when can the pumps be started, should we prime up to the discharge pipeline full of water or just the suction pipe full of water.
Thanks sir
Thanks
superb...ty so much
Thank you so much Sir.
Excelent explanation¡¡¡¡¡¡
Awesome sir
Sir super explanation and can you explain p/v valve in inert gas system of oil tankers...
nice video sir
Sir,could u pls make a technical video on net positive suction head and its calculations
How many seconds does this process consume when turn it on?
Thank you sir 🙏
very well explained if we have any confusion how can we conatct you.
thanks mate.
Can someone explain, how much vacuum pressure does the vacuum pump provides
Nice sir
Thank you
Sir can you explain how central priming system works??
Pump capacity is necessary for priming...
I mean
1800 LTR Centrifugal pump is able to priming or how deep.....
air extraction pupm is a centrifugal pump??if so what about its priming ??
Well 👍
still i have confusion ,real ship how it look like ,but anyway this helpful for study thank you brother.
Thanks.....
Nice video. Question sir. Is it required to always open the discharge valve of the emergency fire pump open at all times?
of course, during a engine room fire it is quite difficult to open that valves required for boundary cooling.
What is the importance of water in priming tank???. You didn't explain the functioning of priming pump casing
👍
Why not just use a self priming pump?
self priming pumps have significantly shorter service life and Are more expensive. remember a fire engine may move 1000-1500 GPM and make 500psi requiring multi stage impellers and large displacement a clutch driven air pump would add unnecessary weight take up valuable space both bad on fire trucks. we always need more storage and often our weight maxes out. good question

Bhai gay hai kya??
Excuse me. Can you drive a better picture to be able to understand.
Excellent explanation
