Today we want to show you how we created a cover for Mike Benesh's supernatural horror What Watches and Waits 😈
✨We began with designing the cover's composition: we picked the background and layered the images of the main character and the old creepy house on top of it. We slightly retouched the image to make it look natural and coherent.
✨ Then we moved on to working with colors: we made the background black and white to ensure the next color, blue, dominates the cover. We also placed the huge full moon, the key source of light, behind the house.
✨Finally, we worked on visual effects: we added a mystical glow to the moon, made shadows more saturated at the corners, and added more tree branches, smoke, and mist to create a spooky atmosphere and make the cover catchy 🙌
It's always so satisfying to watch how book covers are being designed, agree? 🤩
