Dota 2 Purge plays Nyx Assassin

- I decided to play unranked games on stream so that I could random and get different heroes, and I ended up with a Nyx Assassin this game!
Nyx should generally be played in either the offlane or as a support, and this game I played more of a roaming support, though my intention was to play in the offlane.
Try to farm towards bottle or Arcane boots, and get a blink dagger afterwards so that you can set up disables easier, and follow that up with generally a force staff, or other utility items.
This game I built a diffusal blade because I didn't have faith with my team, and I wanted more damage to compensate.
The reason my allies seemed weaker here, is that it's difficult to find a balanced unranked game with my MMR, since most people at my skill level play ranked, so that's why the skill disparity is high. I definitely could have played better though!

This hurt to watch. 3 times purge got the gem and then went on a fucking mission determined to suicide. He was sooo greedy this game.

That Invoker actually played really well. Even managed to solo rax when you weren't paying attention. That Spectre and Skywrath easily lost you guys the game though. It was painful looking at the Spectre's item builds and the Skywrath feeding and missing nearly every ultimate.

Well, you can't expect someone to have complete map awareness 100% of the time, even if they're pro. And like I mentioned before, Purge didn't even notice that Invoker raxed the enemy team at 28:39 until several minutes later.
I bet if that Invoker player played Furion instead, there probably have been a different outcome. He would be taking more farm from the Spectre who barely farmed better than the enemy Pudge and make actual use of it.

Guys I caught on to something weird in the video... - If you can manage to pause immediately in 34:26, you can see a character of sorts in the bush appear to the left of the steps that purge is about to cross... It has a health and mana bar! It kinda looks like phantom lancer but there wasn't one in this match! Weird! :O
i managed to pause at the exact moment hes there and it kinda looks like wraith king crossed with pl, its not very clear... but its deffinetly there...

I downloaded the replay, but unfortunately it doesn't show up there. Even tried to use the showcase view to get vision inside the forest. Nothing :(
Its a bug . an old one ... The first time it happend to me it was more then a year ago .... this weird object appers for less then a sec ... mostly at mid lane sometimes at a diffrent place .
Those were the best first 6 minutes of a game I've sen in a long time.

Purge never really announced what hero he's gonna play, so it will either happen or not, probably without you knowing it before
he does play Techies actually back in dota1..meaning it wont be any different for him in dota 2 i guess..it depends on him..

I love you purge but... This game... You should have done something different.
Pms... why not a null talisman to get a dagon?
It gave you less agility but more life and the same damage, while a great boost in int.
I love strange builds but you had some decisive and squishy enemies you need to take care of. Nuking a nuker like lion would eliminate a lot of problems. You can zap and stun enigma, without even using the ultimate.
Dagon could have been fundamental in this game.

I have a question about that build. Isn't Rod of Atos essentially better than diffusal blade for the purposes of nyx? You get a longer range slow, there wasn't really anything to purge on the enemy team, it doesn't have charges, makes you tougher and passive mana burn is actually kinda bad because you already have manaburn. The only upside is more damage and atk spd from agi you get, but really, if you need agi you can build ethereal.
I hate when my ranked games go like this, I do my best, but my team is just not sufficient enough to do the right things.
Same. All I want is for my teammates to go 1-1. Then I'd be amazingly happy. But one person always feeds, and then the fed enemy kills me all the time.. and suddenly I'm the bad guy :/
Yeah, I've lost 13 of my 16 ranked games over the past few weeks because of people like that. My MMR dropped to 2984 :(

Why didn't you break Nyx invis with an auto-attack as oppose to using impale? I haven«t played in a while but from what I remember breaking invis with auto hit gives quite a burst, then you impale. Maybe you'd have killed Enigma in your first ult.
Since you mentioned it in the video desciption, I was wondering how the matchmaking in unranked matches works because I almost never play ranked (I don't even have a solo ranking yet). Do I get bad players in unranked matches because I don't have a Solo MMR? And if yes, what MMR should I try to get to in order to have "decent" to "good" players in unranked matchmaking? (I'm asking for personal experience)

What did Purge do with those Arcane boots at 8 min. When he used it during cd? I'm still new so I don't know all the tricks of the game
he got more mana from bottle... drop arcane use bottle pick up bottle
Basically, when your mana or health changes, it retains whatever percentage of mana or health you have. The bottle that he used to regain his mana, however, has a static amount of mana it regenerates.
For example, if you have 50/100 mana and you get an item that gives you 100 more mana, you will then have 100/200 mana rather than 50/200. If you have a potion that restores 25 mana back to the user, and you use it when you have 100/200 mana, you will have a total of 125/200 mana. If you use it when you have 50/100 mana and then you pick up the item that gives you 100 mana, you will result with 150/200 mana.
Because of this, he drops the boots (which gives more mana) in order to get a higher percentage of mana when he uses a bottle.
The same idea is also applied when tread switching.

Every match purge plays as nyx, he does his job well. He is just always in potato/wood league. It's purge's curse

Say you successfully rush blademail, you now have a blademail and like 900 health and minimal damage, I don't see when that's ever a good idea.

Nyx spiked carapace returned the thunder clap DMG + he killed the necro unit with thunderclap which dealt at least 400 pure dmg.

I think a Dagon would of been a better buy. The diffusal didn't really do much compared to what a dagon would do with the extra burst.

Purge's team would have won if counterinitiated better. The brewmaster really messed them up. And a lot of kills were lost due to misplace. I don't think you can completely blame the specter, even if it was a really huge deal that he farmed faster and took the right item build.
