At some point, SM64 modding is going to go so insane that hacks will be able to not even resemble SM64 anymore. That's what I'm looking forward to, because we'll likely see an independent renaissance of people creating new games and making N64 ports of existing ones that go beyond what's already been done.
Especially such mods, exactly! Since the SM64 Maker it seems many 'new' level were just some staples for SM64 Makes with nearly no custom stuff or creativity in there.
that is what made N64 so special, every game was build with own architecture, is basically an exclusive engine for every game, that is why every game looks so unique, different and also got own atmosphere, things that died today because unreal engine, that made every game looks the same, all dry, pale, grey, inconsistent and lifeless. but even "other" games using SM64 base still give more different feeling than a engine

Frogger 2 had a cancelled n64 port. There's a prototype build of it with a fully playable level floating around. Maybe you'd be interested in checking out the Highway Frogs discord server.
I am not sure how much of a problem for the physics it might be but faster obstacles should make it more challenging and also more recognizable. BTW: It doesn't seem to be that much finished since one can only play frogger. Icluding more acade machines to be 'playable' looks like the main plan here. Let's see if there will be a time to shine for a larger version of this. Gotta go and rate this hack full stars to increase the likelihood ;-)
