  • I met up with Bryce, a long-time offroader with plenty of experience with all the name brand shocks. He tried the big van space brands, but ultimately went with King Shocks. I wanted to hear his why, and his honest feedback. Shadowmarq Industries is proud to have Bryce as our customer!
King Shocks: 2.5 Performance Kit w/ 2.0 Comp (Resi) Adjusters , Shadowmarq x King 2.0 Aux Shock w/ 2.0 Comp Adjusters.

What setup do you think will work for 90% of weekend warriors? Just something that improves on stock and doesnt require the kind of maintenance kings do.

The King's don't really require the maintenance everyone thinks they do when comparing them with pre-runner trucks and rock crawlers. They are performance shocks, but they're not getting abused to the same level. The Kings are estimated to have 30k-40k mile maintenance checks. These aren't throw away shocks like the others. They're easily worked on by anyone with the tools, or any local offroad shop.
The question is, what do you want out of your suspension. If you want the best handling and control on and offroad, you want the Kings. If you want a budget suspension system with just better than stock expectations, then you can get the other brands.

Hello so is it stock height with the whole king setup? What size tire?? Thank you

Pretty much. The Kings are direct replacements. The front will lift about 0.5", and allow you to adjust height up to an additional 1.5". We rarely touch the default coil position though. The Kings paired with Deaver leaf springs will lift the van about 2 inches. Our Deaver leaf springs don't use any blocks or pre-loading wedges to compensate for height. You're getting the full progressive suspension lift from Deaver vs. the others.
