FYI, they make these tail lights aftermarket now that do not have the blis module provision and will hook up to your halogen wiring with no extra harnesses needed.
I have a 2019 and took off the wire harness off of a 2018 but my tailgate won’t lock. Going under the truck later to check out the number of pins difference
Hey man, if I recall correctly they would. I know the plugs (on the ends of harness) going into the tail lights will work. As long as the other connections (under bed of truck) on the factory 2018 halogen harness are the same. Then everything will swap over!
Which wire harness would I need for the 2015-2017 OEM version? Not sure if the model you used for your 2018-2020 tail lights also work for my 2016 F150.
@experiencehelps6657 I just plugged in the Foscan cable and followed directions from a video on TH-cam and it worked perfectly. They only reason for the hyper flash is because the computer thinks the halogen bulb is out, so the indicators flash quickly on the dash to let you know. Forscan just disables that feature and the flash is gone... took about 5 minutes to do
Hey, not that I'm aware of. I connected everything included on the the new harness (as mentioned in video). Nothing off camera.. Is everything fully connected? No issues with the led tail lights themselves?
@@brodiecd7093 thanks for the reply man and im not sure man im going to go ahead and gest my dads tail lights off his platinum just to check is its a wiring orr my tail lights issue
Thanks! The LED version tail lights will work on all models yup! They all have the same single plug. The Halogen tail lights are slightly different from the 15-17 and 18-20 however!
you initially said the owner before you painted the lens - oh not so. That is factory 100% not paint. Not sure why you would buy the super expensive 2018 w back up alarm and module. EhhHH
Its not factory haha, its that nightshade spray. They're just a tad darker than oem. The previous owner had pictures of them before/after. I bought them because I got a great deal on oem led lights 👍🏼

Oh very cool, that a particular brand?

Hi, I hope you’re doing well. Do you think I can do the same on my 2023 XLT?
Thank you for this! I have a 2015 and wanted to swap to LED lights and I didn't want to pay $100 for a crap adaptor to make them work.
Hey happy it helped 👍🏼

I have a 2018 with halogen just picked up a pair of 2017 factory led will this same harness work

My truck is a 2016 F150. I could have added either generation of tail light with the same harness
Does the new OEM harness include resistors, similar to what is provided on those adapter kits when upgrading from halogen to LED?
Unfortunately not.. I was thinking to go the forescan route to avoid adding resistors. Still to need to do that!
Have you done the Forscan mods? What exactly needs to be modified to fix the hyper flash? Thanks

Is there anything else that has to be wired. I did the same thing only my drl are comming on

Good video. So just to make sure I heard right. 18-20 tail lights will work with a 15-17 truck
