  • Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well! 🥰 Today I thought I would play around with
    some Baking Soda after I discovered that I had some hiding in the back of the freezer! 😄
    What an incredible reaction it has on the glass…the bubbles!!
    Beautiful and frothy….even the bubbles have bubbles! I really appreciate how simple this technique is.
    I hope you do too! ✨
    Cheers- Robin👋🏽🌹💫

      It is so fancy.!! 😆 you will love it! If you’re not careful, the bubbles can pop. They are usually deep too!
      I tried to get a lot of them to pop once but it seems to do whatever it wants! 😂 glad to hear from you Linda! Cheers- Robin 🤗🌹🌹🌹🌹

      Hi Patty! The difference is so crazy between the two types of glass 😃 the soft glass is very quick to melt! It’s a lot of fun and I enjoy the color pallets as well as their price! 😂. Thanks so much for sharing!

      @@scottwoodresearch Ok, I have to admit I got distracted...no baking soda yet...BUT I made my first octopus🐙, a purple one 🙃 It was fun! Want to know why? Because no clear encasing🎉🤬 😆 (cross your finger bones for me. No kiln yet. Oh goodness I said yet🤔)
      Anyway, thank you Robin for all the "go for it" and so much more that comes thru in your vids. You are a treasure! 🖤

      Ohhh that is so sweet of you to say! I’m so excited that you made an octopus! How fun is that!!
      Encasement can be tricky but like everything, it just takes a bit of practice. 🥰
      And as long as your beads aren’t cracking your doing fine! Big Hugs- Robin 💫🌹✨👋🏽🤗

      @@scottwoodresearch So it's been 3 months I believe since I started. Wish I could show you all you have inspired! (You can't message channels on here anymore?? Lame.) As far as encasing goes with a hothead it sometimes seems you need a putty knife! It is a totally enjoyable adventure this glass. 😊 And I have gotten to know my Aloe plant rather well😉 Cheers to you lovely lady❣🕷

    • @scottwoodresearch
      @scottwoodresearch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is an adventure! 🤗 …As long as you are having fun! Sometimes instead of encasing I will add the big clear dots for that lovely magnifying effect. Either way, I think is good to work at your own pace with the glass. I have never used a hothead torch so I’m sure it is different. I didn’t even think about encasing for a long…just focused on dots!😂 I would love to see your progress! rkschultes@gmail.com

      Hello Deborah! 🤗🌹 Thank you for that question! (This was before I started, adding the color names in the description.) The colors are… Effetre- Kelp 591090, Aqua Dark 591036 and
      CIM-Cranberry Pink 511926. The pink can also be substituted with Effetre- Gold Pink 591456.

    Hi Robin thank you for this idea. Can you tell me please, do you put the bead afterwords into the kiln or do you use some vermiculite or bead annealing pearls? ❤ I‘m watching you from Austria

    • @scottwoodresearch
      @scottwoodresearch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Jacqueline! 🤗🌹 I’m so happy you are enjoying the demos! When I am done I put my work into a small Chilipepper Annealer. I got it years ago from Jen Ken Kilns. It’s worth every penny!! Before that I was using vermiculite….(a bit dusty). They didn’t have the pearls back then but that is what I would use now if I didn’t have the kiln! 🥰 Thanks so much for your comment and I hope you are having a lovely day in Austria!! 💫🌹💫🌹Cheers- Robin ✨✨✨

    Hi! I also tried to use the florist frog but fo sure I'll try soda too 🙂This is beautiful!
    I have few questions for You, I hope You don't mind... I wonder if you could make a tutorial how to make something off mandrel and then attached a wire to it? It would be very usefull in making earrings or pendants. I ve tried to make it but I was melting the wire or making everything just cracked 😐
    And one last question... I bought a really beautiful lentil brass press and the beads look awsome but.. after cleaning the separator they breaked on half. Is it possible that I wasn;t gentle enough or is it because I don't use an annealer yet? I use cooling bubbles like vermiculate). I was looking for cheap kiln but it is difficult to find something with bead door. When you have an annealer you don't need to put beads into vermiculate first? Just right into an annealer? I now it is a lot of questions but I would be very grateful for Your response. Cheers! Barbara 😇😀🌹🌹🌹

    • @scottwoodresearch
      @scottwoodresearch  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Barbara! Thanks for your questions! Hmmmm….glass on a wire is fairly easy depending on what wire you have. I will try to come up with something to show you! 😃 also, having the wire in a holder helps as well.
      Bead presses are fun!! Did the beads break on the mandrel line? If they did you probably need to give it a good heat before you put it in the cooling bubbles. The brass press can cool the glass down really fast and it can shock it. Especially if it breaks after you clean the bead! It might be that simple.
      It’s a fine line when you need the glass cool enough to put in those cooling bubbles but hot enough to anneal properly! To summarize…Usually when a piece breaks like that it is because it was put away to cold. I hope this helps you Barbara! 🤗 Let me know!
      Cheers- Robin ✨🌹✨🌹💫
      Ps…I got my annealer from ‘JenKen Kilns’. They make the Chilipepper Annealer and I love it! It’s worth a look-see. The most perfect little oven and the least expensive one on the market! 👍🏽

      @@scottwoodresearch Hello! Thanks for your response! I'm looking forward for this video 🤗 Yes, the beads cracked on the mandrel line. I 'll try to heat them more after pressing. I checked your annealer but now it costs about 1000 $ plus 23% taxes in my country when I buy from US 😥 I have found small and used ceramic kiln in my country for about 400 $. It is very simple, you can only set a desired temperature and then you have to manually switch it off. But it has bricks inside so it should cool slowly enough... I hope so 😉 If I am totally wrong let me now. Have a nice day! Barbara 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

      Hi Barbara! Wow…I did not realize that it is so pricey to ship overseas! 👀 but it sounds like the one you found will be perfect. Set it between 950-1000 and when your done just shut it off. That is so exciting!!
      Good luck and keep me in the loop! 🥰 Have a great day!! Robin 👋🏽💫🌹✨🌹✨

      I also use the borosilicate glass from time to time (those are all in a category of their own) Thank so much for asking! ✨
