Good to see back running after your calf strain. I strained mine training for Leeds Marathon. Thankfully I only needed 2 weeks out. What's the need for the really long disclaimer?? I see Kofuzi doing something a little similar but he seems to of almost put his own brand onto it..
thanks! disclaimer is to try and be as transparent as I can and if possible even set a benchmark. There are channels that are not doing it, getting paid for reviews, journalists making a living out of it and not stating that anyway. Their views will be impacted by brands and agencies. There are 'Reviewers' not running in the shoes, doing 10 miles and claiming they are the best shoe ever! I am independant and want anyone watching to know I am not beholding to anyone and hopefully the very least that I am a runner and I run in the shoes and will say whatever I like.
Got mine yesterday, because of the bootie construction I was concerned that they would be hard to get on but I had no problems at all. They are softer than I expected and are probably the softest shoe I have.
According to Mizuno designers (from the interview that Doctors of Running did), this is NOT supercritical EVA. It is some specially modified EVA (secret formula) but they were clear that it was not supercritical. I ran in this shoe in a demo run here and it is indeed very soft. Actually a bit too soft for me. Definitely needs that plate and deep midsole void to get some return. As the pace goes up, the midsole firms up a bit which increases the responsiveness (probably EVA foam is not having time to fully expand) I really like the upper and comfort of the shoe. I would like to get a pair at discount as a casual comfort shoe.
For anyone who may find it useful: this Sunday I made my debut in the Marathon (Málaga) with them. I am 1.80 meters tall and at the start I weighed 70 kg (my ideal weight is 68), a fair technique to avoid tripping over myself and I have 1h 50' in the Half Marathon. Well: 3h 59'09" (2h 00'16" for the Half and 1h58'53" for the 2nd half) and outrageous comfort and ease on the feet. The next day... no tightness🎉🎉🎉🎉
I got 10miles in mine over the last 2 days and it definitely wants you to mid/heel strike to get what youre supposed to get out of it. Im a mid/forefoot runner so it's been a difficult transition so far. When i tried to run the way i normally do i was about 10 minutes away from a serious blister on the pad of my left foot. So today i changed my foot strike and ran without the shoelaces and it felt really good! Easy & fun zone 2 workout when you run at the mid strike. Idk if ill be able to mid strike at faster paces bc i almost feels like I'm stomping and im not a fan of that. But it does feel like, with the mid foot strike, that I'm actually going through the actually rocker of the shoe. It's like running in a Hoka except that peak starts further back than the Hoka's. The Hoka rocker has always felt like it wanted you on the forefoot for me, which is what im used to.
When i tried to run on my forefoot the first time i put them on i felt a weird pressure on my arch the entire time plus the beginnings of a blister. That wasn't very fun 🤣
I thought I was the only one with this issue! The shoes are quite fun, and I like them, but I get blisters every time I run in them. I'm also a mid/forefoot runner. I had the same impression that the shoe asks for a mid/heel strike. I tried changing my foot strike, but I'm still getting blisters. Did running without shoelaces actually solve your problem?
@@jhonatanpinzon771 yeah without the shoe laces I don't feel as much pressure from the upper. My foot fits perfectly in the shoe without it. I haven't used them in a while bc I've been wearing the Wave Rebellion Flash 2's instead bc they're lighter. But I have a 10k to do later today so I'll get back to you if I feel like I'm going to get a blister on my foot. But since I took the laces off the last time I used them, I didn't have any issues! The only complaint I have with them now is that they feel heavy on longer runs.
Only tried mine on in the house but I already know it's going to be amazing! Tomorrow I will be putting the first of many miles in them and I can't wait 😂 Not sure of that daft disclaimer Chris, keep it less formal if ya can
Ok mate appreciate the input on the disclaimer.. it’s important anyone who watches knows I ain’t full of 💩 and I’m not biased coz I was sent stuff etc. oh and I actually am a runner and run in the shoe 🤣🤣🤣 but no thanks I’ll look to tweak for sure over the next month or so
@@FordyRuns As a long-term subscriber, follower, stalker whatever you wanna call me I completely understand what you're saying. I honestly would just go back to the basic stuff you used to say. The majority of sensible people know you're being genuine and for anyone who can't understand a basic disclaimer then there's really no helping them 😂 The Fordy fan club know the score mate so thanks for all the hard work, hope Si and Speedgoat are both well 👌🏻
Managed to get my hands on a barely used pair of Speed 4 for £90 and am really enjoying them, is this shoe a direct competitor or would it work in conjunction? Great video as ever Chris!
I got the neo vista and I love running in them. They are very fun. I have already 36km with them ( 3 runs, approx 12km per run) but each time I use them I am getting blisters on my feet. Anyone else with this problem? It kills me because I like them alot but I don't think I will keep them.
It’s a bit too soft. I did 10 miles in mine and now can’t return them to Mizuno. It’s good at slow paces but can’t push the pace without pushing it hard. It’s like mud
Nope I’m doing it to hopefully make others more accountable. There is so much 💩 out there that I want people to know I’m actually running and not just 10 miles before claiming a shoe is the worlds best! Also that I’m unbiased it’s important
@@FordyRuns cool. I was just curious... It's tough. I have a review channel (not shoes or running) and so I know what you are talking about. I think some people are so scared to give a negative review, that almost every review ends up being full of praise. The problem is, you really can cost people a heck of a lot of money to keep yourself getting free shoes. I am sure you will have experienced the 'give a negative review' (or even a mild review!) and end up being cut off from being sent any future products. I can understand that dilemma, but I guess you have to make a choice about why you're in it at that point. Well done for making the right one 😁
I got mine last week. Great shoe for a mixed pace longer run. You’re right about the fun factor. I had to force myself to keep the pace down.
With you
which pace you saying? 5-6min/km? :=)

Can't wait to try mine this Sunday long run! Those laces are so long, might try the yowana lace tie :)
Yowana lace tie 🤣 how the F does he even do that. I've tried and failed a few times
Just got mine. Not ran in them yet but feel great walking around. Would they work alongside the Superblast in a rotation or are they too similar?
They certainly look very eye catching. I would wear them just for the aesthetics.
I’ve been enjoying your content mate
thanks alot I appreciate it
Love the banging colour way
Loved the way you pronounced Mizunoo! I thought it was pronounced Mizu-noh. I prefer yours! :)
Oh thanks!
