@@camgearmoto2260 vtech is just a brand term for cam and valve timing. Lots of engines from cars and bikes have it. You are right when you say suzuki doesnt have vtech. But the bandit does have variable cams. That's why it performs better at higher rpms
Also have a 02 gsf400 with same dead battery problem, found out that the radiator fan was the problem, when it kicked in the fan was pulling power faster than the batt could be charged from the engine, bear in mind the fan doesnt always come on just when I really was driving it hard or very hot days, so I just hooked up a second batt under the seat and solved the problem that way.

The 400 Bandit V did have a type of valve tech in them...but if Im not mistaken, this is not a Bandit V.
I know that VC. But he first says Vtec which is patented by Honda.

Nice bike. I myself own a 93 GSF400P. Yours looks very well maintained. For the 1st 4minutes I was looking for the R1. :-)
