Literally reached my hands out to my tv screen and prayed over their marriage. 😭😭 Praying they see that 60+ years of marriage.
Married only a couple months yet just separated. I remember watching this earlier this year before I even met my husband. I kept remembering this episode I feel like God sent me back here for a reason; my marriage will not end. We will come out victorious and I will be the wife God has called me to be to get that change I deserve to see in my husband & myself ❤

You can see that these two STILL love each other. I love the way over time in the conversation they started opening up towards each other- more eye contact, touching, moving closer, hubby hand over the chair behind his wife, body language start opening up for sure. God is going to restore this marriage. Godspeed to both of you.

This is the testimony of many couples, lost my wife after 19 years, and it help me grow up and take a look at my life, seeing how I was a provider for so many years and not a emotional and spiritual provider. But God!!! after 3 years of divorce and growing from both 3 months after the divorce papers where settled we are dating again and learning who the new people we are.... And for me God is first..... The most powerful thing that I heard from this podcast is that If God can resurrect then the divorce is a small thing....

Did you have an understanding of why their marriage is in trouble? With all the transparency about what they lacked I didn't hear clear communication of I need and what this.... even when they were planning the 20yr vow renewal I heard a railroading to move forward with it absent anything to resolve the issues. Were pretenses more Important? Why have a vow renewal if your marriage if you really wanted out?

My husband talked to a divorce lawyers and paid the money and everything and I was supposed to sign the papers and I didn’t, when I saw he had went that far it did something to me, but he call his lawyers and said we are going to work it out, and from watching your podcast it has open my eyes, the episode with Tony Evans son and wife cause me to see so much and how powerful a woman words can break or make a man, marriage, so I started listening to God and he will tell me , let me deal with him, you just watch , listen and be careful with your words and seek me. Now my husband marriage has gotten better, but we working on it everyday, God is so Good, I love your show.

I wonder where they are now. I hope that’s what’s happening now. I have 20more minutes of the episode but after 1.5hrs in my heart hurts for her and any other women in a relationship like this. I am a believer and I know God can change situations that seem impossible. I really resonate with her story. It’s so unfair and exhausting to pour and pour and pour into a person who won’t reciprocate and will continuously reject you in secret and public. It’s tough to fight alone. It hurts to be committed to long suffering and sacrifice for the sake of your partner and they can’t or won’t do the same, even after years of begging for scraps. She said she didn’t shut down right away but after years of this treatment she did. I know her suffering won’t be in vain with or without him. But I hope she gets the desires of her heart, a new, vibrant, love-filled marriage with the man she gave her heart to.

She said she prayed for him to get a new wife and that it would be her. Man my allergies 🤧 are acting up. I started praying for them 35 mins into this one. And after hearing them, when you played that video I broke!!!! I can't wait to see there part 2, cause they gonna make it!
You can really tell how strong she is in the Lord to deal with his years of punishment & rejection. It's abusive, yet she still wants to rebuild. May God perfect all things concerning them.
Let me tell you the worse thing he’ll feel or see is if they divorce and then she gets married again and he sees her living her best life with her new man who PRAYS, and treat her like a woman of God whom is bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh. That’ll hit him harder than he’s ever been hit before. All this I don’t want to talk I will speak with you when I want to type BS if he doesn’t get close with God he’ll loose a phenomenal woman who knows him best and vice versa
I'm up here balling after LTs prayer for the couple. Tavia is committed to the marriage. It appears that Jewel is still working through things. When she prayed "Lord bless my husband with a new wife and let it be me" my mouth dropped. My God! I agree with Laterras. God is pursing Jewel through Tavia. I don't know if the purpose is to for marriage but I do believe it's to reach Jewel and heal him through Tavia's unwavering commitment. He jokingly said she's stalking him. Well God is too. That's why it's intense. God will come for you through anything or anyone. This was a great episode and everyone needs to see this. This is real and not the fairytale. Hopefully marriages are restored when both parties willing submit to the leading of the spirit.

A whole year later and Holy Spirit used this podcast to speak to me! I have been up day and night asking God to restore was is seemingly a failed marriage on the verge of this divorce. This episode is like watching me and my husband (split image). This is a clear example of pain/suffering being used to glorify God!! I have been losing all hope but this message has restored the little I had left. I pray that this marriage has been restored beyond it's original foundation. I pray that Tavia knows all that she's endured and trusting in God to restore their marriage was not in vain b/c it has truly blessed me and given me hope in my own situation. To God be the Glory!!!
When Tavia said the part about “God is going to tell you what’s going to happen and then gives you the grace period to change it” (Dr Tony Evans) I literally stopped in my tracks.
Words from a women's lips can build or kill. No wonder men aren't vulnerable with us. This episode spoke to me and uncovered so many things that occurred in my marriage. I will not make those missteps again. The vows must be fully understood and embraced.

When she said "my marriage is my heart." I felt that tears came to my eyes.
I’m single, never married, childless-52 years old- still preparing for marriage. This show is transparent and blessing for others.
I think this was their first counseling session together on the podcast before they even start it officially. God was definitely speaking on here. I even saw the change throughout the episode.

Yes! Latteras is so insightful and so vested in these relationships. When I saw him get so emotional and teary eyed at the end I felt for him and them both because he loves them and want to see them win with each other. But he also recognizes that the process is hard. I hope they know it's worth it.

I was trying to understand where the husband was with his marriage as well. I truly can see he's still growing with his emotions n his insecurities. But after seeing the wedding ceremony n the words he spoke to his wife, it was refreshing to see a change of heart. Yes divorce IS the worst that could happen to a marriage. It's the ultimate breakdown and separation of two people who have vowed to stick it out w each other. That's not detrimental to you??? If you in a marriage that's draining you, that can be fixed; divorce cannot.

@Ange G Yes, I noticed that too. The tension slowly got released as the video progressed, and the physical distance between them on the couch got slightly smaller. I also noticed that there were subtle attempts to touch each other. However, I feel that Jewel appears to be still processing all of this and proceeding cautiously…which is wise. I’m praying for the individual healing, the renewal of their minds, and the resurrection of their marriage in Jesus’ name. May God do a new thing for this couple (Isaiah 43:18-19).
Personall, I did not see him move closer, just his arm on the back of the chair. Feels to me he is struggling & straddling the fence...caught between what he should do and what he really wants to do for himself. It happens in marriages in his case married young & now his children are grown. He may need a sabbatical & after will find himself coming back full circle back to his wife fully intact, whole & clear headed. My hope for these two beautiful people. Enjoyed this & all podcast. "Divorce is the most painful thing you will ever go through in life" I remember saying that to a few of my friends. This remains true for me. Hopefully I never have to experience that kind of pain (or worse) ever again.

GOD uses Laterrias is a mighty way. When they started out they were both talking harshly and I was scared for them. Then I started to hear Tavia's heart. Her language to GOD for her husband is so genuine that she can expect GOD to do a mighty work and give her the desires of heart. And that is to give Jewel a "new" wife and it shall be her! This episode was phenomenal, it touched my heart in a mighty way. Marriage is beautiful and they will make it another 25yrs. PERIODT

Tavia is strong-willed and extroverted. Jewel is an introvert and a little passive-aggressive. They are very different, rubbed each other the wrong way, didn't communicate about it and grew apart. I also smell midlife crisis. BUT GOD. If both parties open their hearts to God, He'll fix it! ❤️ P.S. Those daughters are all gorgeous and love them SO much! 😍😍😍

The entire episode I saw hopefulness all over Tavia’s face. I feel like I’m in a season where I’m finally taking God at His word and not being afraid to trust & believe that His promises will come to pass. So I fully understand how she’s standing firmly on what God spoke to her and continues to speak! I’m standing with you Tavia!! We need to go to counseling but we also need to go to the closet about things. I’m believing God for miracles, signs & wonders particularly this month and idc who is on the receiving end (doesn’t have to be me) I just wanna see God move so I will be in prayer for this marriage! Like you said Laterras they don’t even have the power to dissolve it, it’s not up to them!! Let this be a seed I sow into their marriage as I desire to reach the 25 year mark in my future marriage. I felt that too. I think they may have gotten married with expectations of each other. They were young.
Maybe projecting an image of what they want(ed) on each other instead of accepting each other as they are.

Very good point Elornah. Getting caught up in the idealism of a person and imposing that on them is dangerous. It hinders that person from growth as well as having the opportunity to share who they are in their entirety. The question one must ask themselves is do they want the fake person or the real person. For me, I’d rather have the real person & go from there.
Wow!!!When you asked them to close their eyes and imagine themselves without one another, you could see that it made them visibly uncomfortable, to know that this could be a reality. I’ve never been married ,but this episode showed me what it means to have the fruit of the spirit, long suffering. I pray that patience has it’s perfect work in their union. This episode really got to me and the last few year’s I hardly ever cry, but this brought tears to my eyes. I am so glad I watched it all the way through because at times his transparency came off a little strong. But I know without full transparency and honesty you can’t fully heal. The 20 year vowel renewal was so beautiful and brought tears of joy. When they told the story of going to celebrate with mutual friends and he bought her a drink. I knew that he was dating her all over again and didn’t know it at that time. God I pray that you cover this family and their marriage. 🙏🏾

Marriage is a spiritual institution and would take a Divine God who created the institution to hold it together. I am so please that Tavia interceded for their marriage. Jewel was interceding too in his own way. God has the final say in the outcome of this union.
My 25 year marriage died due to a lot of the concerns that they brought up. We didn’t have any examples to reference that we could possibly be renewed. If there is anything that I wish that I had done more, it would be to pray more for my husband rather than win arguments. Thank you for this broadcast. During my shoot with Tavia, you encouraged me when you saw how uncomfortable I was, being photographed. You asked what would I need to hear to make me feel comfortable in the moment. I saw something in you then, that those around you & those assigned to you have need of. The two of you possess so much greatness. I cried watching this. I've only been married 3.5 years and it's been hell. My husband is just off in his own world. I cry night after night because I feel so alone. I want my marriage to work so bad but it's seriously looks like we are heading for divorce. We need HELP!!!! PLEASE

I married my HS SW and it was only 7 years but was only together for 3 of the years. Spirituality doesn’t save everything but it’s a strong foundation which we didn’t have. Make sure you two have that. One thing I had that my ex didn’t was the desire to make it work. If only one of you desire to make it work it may not work out

As I watch this couple I'm not watching them run the race but I see them already at the finish line. Both seem aware of their part , both seem willing and now God can do the molding into the original intent of this relationship. This was not an episode on brokenness but on the power of agreement. If both husband and wife come in agreement with God's purpose there is nothing and I mean nothing that they can't achieve. I envision this power couple updating this episode and telling others how they won.
Ms. Tavia, I appreciate your transparency. I went through so many similarities to what you described when you had your come to "Jesus" moment and began to intercede for your marriage. The enemy had me in such an emotional fog that I also felt and thought I didn't love my husband of 24 years. But my realization was too little too late and I actually believed I was doing The right thing and I chose to divorce my husband. It has been THE BIGGEST MISTAKE of my life! BUT GOD!!! We are actually dating again and it's all because I stopped trying to navigate my own way and I truly decided to let go of the past and surrender my present and future to God. It's so painful to see how checked out and far removed he is from investing in restoring the marriage so I know it must be extremely difficult for her but I am encouraged by her strength and commitment. I honestly feel like she’ll make a great wife to someone else that’s more appreciative of her in every way! She’s giving it her all & putting God first in every area of her life. Just look at his face expressions, his rudeness but calling it transparent. Only time he seems happy when he speaks on those divorce papers it’s like he spend more time being stubborn, neglectful and unkind than being loving, willing and respect towards her. I pray love finds her & I pray that he completely heal from his behavior and lack of emotion.
I wouldn’t say “lack of emotion”. He has emotions and we cannot expect people to (re)act the way we would like them to. 🤷🏾♀️
Not really. They are two different personality types. He is not being rude. He is just a different personality type and for me I see a mismatch, plus lack of self awareness. He is more introverted and conflict avoidant, she is more extroverted and confrontational in nature. Such two mismatched individuals always have it rough in marriage as the extroverted one is always pushing the introverted one and the more the more the more the introverted one shuts down. He is a wonderful husband too, no infidelity, provides for the family, etc. just married to a woman who cant meet him where he needs to be met, and he cant also meet his wife where she needs to be met. Unless God opens their eyes to see how this dynamic can be resolved, it will go nowhere. I pray God does, though.
You can not put a price on this type of fresh, live, and raw wisdom!
