  • Welcome to our ultimate guide on exploring Moraine Lake! In this video, we will reveal insider tips and tricks on how to reach this breathtaking destination within Banff National Park. So, if you're dreaming of immersing yourself in the pristine beauty of Moraine Lake, you've come to the right place.
Moraine Lake, nestled in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, is an absolute paradise for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. With its vibrant turquoise waters, soaring mountain peaks, and dense forests, this hidden gem offers a surreal experience like no other.
In this comprehensive guide, we'll walk you through step-by-step on how to get to Moraine Lake seamlessly. As of 2023, Moraine Lake is only accessible by shuttle or private tour so today I've tested out the Moraine Lake Bus Company to give you all the information you need to get there.
The Moraine Lake Bus Company was started by a couple in Banff. When Parks Canada closed the Moraine Lake Road to personal vehicles and elected not to provide any sunrise shuttles, they were frustrated by this news, so they quit their jobs and started the bus company! Sunrise is the best time to witness this lake in all its glory so I am very grateful for this service.
Additionally, this company have a very easy booking process with no account needed and space on their busses for paddle-boards, pets and some larger items. You can find all the information you need and book your tickets here: tinyurl.com/Morainelakebuscom...
Alongside navigation, we'll also enlighten you on the captivating activities you can indulge in at Moraine Lake. Whether you want to hike through picturesque trails, go kayaking, or simply bask in the tranquility of the surroundings, we'll share our expert advice to ensure you make the most of your time there From sunrise to sunset, Moraine Lake offers an ever-changing canvas of colors and moods, and we'll help you capture these magical moments for a lifetime.

Hey, very insightful video. Banff has been on my bucket list for a while now.
I'am planning to visit banff in early May 2024. But, it was stated somewhere that the road to Moraine lake would be closed until early June due to harsh weather conditions and risk of avalanches. Is that correct?
I enjoyed watching your channel and find it to be very informative. Among the best travel content I've come across. Keep doing what you're doing 👏👏

      Hi Manish,
Thank you so much for your kind words!
You are correct that the road will be closed until early June. This is standard as the road in sits on a major avalanche path so as long as winter conditions are around - the road will remain closed unfortunately!
Best of luck with the rest of your trip though

It’s absolutely horrific that you can’t drive there anymore , now you have to take a 100$ bus instead of driving your own vehicle for free. Simple solution should have been expanding the road network.

I disagree, "expanding the road network" would result in such unnecessary destruction in what is one of the most beautiful places and national parks. Yes, not being able to drive and go on your own schedule does suck. We first visited when you could still drive so I get it. BUT we also know exactly how chaotic the traffic was because of the mass tourism and it was a nightmare. There are plenty of different bus companies you can take and the Parks Canada shuttle starts as low as $7 so I would argue there are still affordable options that make this area accessible to everyone.
