    My basket has become a little greasy from washing in the dishwasher and maybe I didn’t take care of it in the very beginning is there any way to get it to look like it’s brand new versus buying a whole new basket? Ty in advance!❤❤

      I would heat it up to losen the grease, then clean it with a heavy duty grease cleaner in the sink.

    Hey CJ, Thank you for the detailed video!
    I’m having issues with my grill plate. Every time I use my grill plate I take a good half hour to an hour to scrub and clean the stuck on residue. I use the dawn spray which helps, I let it soak for a good half hour to an hour. However, even though I soak it I still have some stubborn residue that does not come off with out me scrubbing. Do you have any tips? I also, pre-oil the grill plate before I place any food just to ease the scrubbing a bit. I hope this makes sense lol thank you!

    • @CookingWithCJ
      @CookingWithCJ  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you! I feel your pain sometimes too. I’ll use a ton of Dawn soap, and let it soak overnight. It tends to take care of everything.

      Hey everybody, I’m seeing you’re talking about scrubbing it and using soap. Don’t do that. Just throw it in a pot of boiling water. The stuff comes off that way much easier, about 10 minutes or so.

    I watched to see how you clean the bottom “tub” and the air fryer basket. We have this and clean it after every use yet those 2 non-stick items are the most difficult items to clean of literally anything in the kitchen. The grease splatters do not want to come off except with extensive elbow grease, dawn and hot water. Once you wash it regularly at first glance it looks clean until you look close and grease is hard as a rock on it. Do you seriously not have that problem with yours?

    • @CookingWithCJ
      @CookingWithCJ  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No I don’t have that problem. But I do let them soak in hot water and dawn for an hour or so after every cook. And scrub them with the brush that came with it.

      I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but I soak it in Dawn, and super hot water as soon as it’s cool enough to handle, then I scrub it with all my might, with brush, I then put in dishwasher, but from the very first time I used it, always brown, burnt on, residue. I’ve shied away from using it (even though I love how the chicken etc turns out) because it’s a nightmare in my opinion to get it clean. Should I pre treat the grill with something to avoid food, sauces, marinades, etc from sticking?

  • @michaelrenkes4463
    @michaelrenkes4463 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Probably of my own doing, but the interior of my Foodi grill is just caked with cooked on grease. Primarily the fan and the housing around it. I thought the splatter screen was supposed to prevent that, and I probably should have paid more attention, as evidently it didn't or I didn't re-install it correctly. I am not sure if I am going to be able to salvage it. And I have had to do a lot of twisting and turning with the heating unit trying to get to the grease. I am a cooking newbie, so this was fairly new to me and I really did like the grill. Maybe I'll just buy a new one and make sure I take the proper precautions.
