I make it a habit to wipe my chain down when I get home I keep a rag on the stand I put my bike on, that cuts down on the gunk I get on it when riding. I started waxing my chain last year when I put a new chain on my bicycle, my drive train is way cleaner but I know there are riders who still like their lubes or don' t want to do the process of prepping a chain for waxing, I used the chain stripper in the bottle and it was a easy process. I did two applications of the bottle wax it takes time to do it stuff I did it at night while watching TV. I also found those small lube bottles with the needle applicator you can fill with your own product is less wasteful when putting a drop on the chain.
I used to use alcohol swabs for many years, rather time consuming. Then, I started using WD-40 degreaser, this work really well, but I wasted a lot so I stopped buying it and went back to the trusted alcohol swabs. I also used manuel toothbrushes (these are the only thing they're good for); and eventually, I bought a Park Tools brush🤙🤙. I read last year that people use Clorox wipes. I tried this, and it actually works🤘🤘
You will have to sort comments by "newest first" to see my longer comment. If too long , YT hides them. The methods in this video are 'traditional' but I use wax so the cleaning methods are different . For convenience consider hand removable quicklinks such as wipperman connex as an alternative to the pliers shown at 2:32 .
