- Today we will take a long bumpy brutal bus ride from Kathmandu to Shyfru Besi to begin our hike through Langtang National Park in the Himalayas.
We are foreigners in Nepal so everything is new to us!

They do the bus ride everyday but it's rough for first timers. Hotel prices are great!

Meal was very much on the honor system. Very nice. Paying for toilet paper was new. Glad we didn't have to pay for towels too. We wouldn't have gone if we had to camp lol. The hike is 25 miles up and 25 miles back. It takes some people 3 to 4 days to get up but the people built like machines can make it up in 2 days. We are both big time planners so we are usually prepared early. Makes big challenges more doable! Thanks!!! ❤❤

The reason they charged for toilet paper was bc mostly nepalese people use pressure water hose to clean themselves rather than toilet paper ! Obviously hotels in city do not charge extra for it but hotels around syapru do charge bc they can be expensive! That's why it's better to pack few rolls!
Yea but for hiking which brings in many Westerns they should provide. It's not just locals. Plus girls need toilet paper for more than 💩

Katy and Will como estan? Good vlog. You were on The Bus Ride From Hell. No Luxury Sofa Bus in that direction I guess. That bus ride reminded me of one I took from Medellin to Dabeiba in Colombia in 1989. It was very similar regarding what people were stuffing into the bus plus all the mountain roads. Harald Baldr and Gabriel Traveler two good vloggers.

That journey was for hardcore bus travellers only! Nice clips showing how close the driver gets to the side - keep telling yourself that they know what they're doing! When you got there I loved that view of the mountains, it was lovely and silent all except the sound of the water in the river. Sounds like you guys have come prepared, good idea to make notes of the characters that featured in other vloggers videos so you can hopefully meet some of them. Can't wait to see the trek - good luck!

wait, what? the room, private toilet, utilities and all for $5.00?!!! Sprite and Snickers at the desk to boot! that by itself is worth the bumpy road and bus ride. :) I'm so excited for the hike videos.
Yea, the structure of these tea houses is that they want you to pay for your meals and not worry about spending much on the lodging. Snickers became our favorite snack for the hike. We had one each every day. This hike was life changing!
From where did you take your bus ticket..and what's the timing??
Go to the Tourist Information Center and they can tell you where to go and what time. That's what we did!
did you get charged a 500 NPR fee for withdrawal from the ATM?
Hey! Not sure what the atm fee was. We have a debit card that reimburses us for atm fees, so we don't pay much attention to that. Thanks for the comment!

But then, you look and assess on the treacherous conditions, you get blown away, that something like that is possible.
