That tapping is basically done by the conductor which looks and helps driver with blind apota when he banging its signal to driver there is no obstacles in blind spots

@@mixbagvideos5603 you dont know the situation in 3rd world countries and the narrow roads which are full of trucks going at a speed of 30 kmph(20 miles). so, if the bus driver wont overtake those then its impossible for them to make a living as it would take them 2x the time to reach the destination and dont say that it doesnt matter if they don't earn some extra dollars as you might assume that they have a 5000 usd per month earnings like in the US, they make like around 20-80k rupees (150-700 usd) (depending on the location and passengers) so they are forced to do this so plz dont just blame them as its the situation created by the corrupted government. example: its like you robbed someone and they now have no money so they are forced to do sell drugs to lift their standards and people might blame the guy who got robbed by you because he now has to do drugs,but no one says that he was forced to do that as his house was robbed and hes broke now. if that's not enough explanation to you then i guess you need to grow out of the mindset that everyone is living in a big house with alot of cars in the garage just cause you are.
What do you mean anyone can drive like this? Have you seen dashcam videos from Russia? Those people are the scariest drivers. These Nepalese drivers are the best and safest non-sporting drivers i have seen. Also you must consider, they do not speed just to show off, but they need to make the trip as quick as possible because of the distance and the driving time.
This is more fun than F1, buses overtaking each other from left, right and centre.

Don't encourage drivers to drive and do overtakes on such narrow roads. I just lost my beloved younger brother who was also a good bus driver due to the mechanical failure.

While driving; knocking on sides of bus means STOP. If bus in rest Knocking means Lets Go. If some vehicle is near by; knocking means BE CAREFUL VEHICLE NEARBY. If bus is moving backwards; continuous knock means keep moving and a big loud knock means NOW STOP. Basically it can have any meaning depending upon situation.

What is the significance of the pounding against the side of the bus?
The conductor(helper) is letting the driver know that there are no obstructions on the conductor's side(blind-spot side for the driver) so the driver can speed without worrying about the side that the conductor is pounding on. The conductor's pounding is the extra help the driver relies upon to swerve in and out of traffic.

Между ними была постоянная борьба за пассажира, кто первый долетит до остановки, и так далее. Картина, когда в три полосы несутся три жёлтых автобусика, было обычным явлением. И водилы автобусов "гармошкой" от них не отставали. Гоночный трек отдыхал, с постоянными разборками на остановках.
