Surviving the Himalayan Highway

- It is time to get away from the cities and head into the Himalayan mountains by bus on mountain roads with drops that make you appreciate the abilities of the drivers on some of worlds deadliest roads. In the mountainous country of Nepal the only way is up or down and today we experience an 8 hours long local bus ride up the mountains to Langtang national park. All loaded up I've come prepared for long a long trek to explore the Himalayas. Spend the night in Syabrubesi and tomorrow the trek up to 4000 meters begins.

Finally we're in the Himalayas! Mentally prepare yourself for multiple episodes of my incessant panting as the mountains try to break down a first time trekker. But first we take a GOATED bus up to our point of departure..

you know whats crazy where i live in India, it's SO similar to Nepal because I live in Uttarakhand gharwal which is very close to Nepal so im basically a pahadi too. Our language is also very very similar to Nepali. Would love to come visit Nepal one day!

I have been some 50 Years ago in Nepal (1974) , then it was very, very, very different, most on foot, few lodges... but still an extraordinary experience!

There is no need to argue about the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Historical and archaeological evidence confirms that he was born in Lumbini, which is in Nepal. This fact is well-documented and recognized globally.
