In regards to Arwen, Nesting Grounds can target any permanent! Allows you to get around animating to put the lifelink counter straight onto something... like Caltrops.
@@GraysonFink-i3v mine is 4 colour. Who's your commander? Sadly, Arwen doesn't give the other creature an indestructible counter, just indestructible until end of turn
@@joedoe7572 it's Tazri, Stalwart Survivor. You get Sisay, all the phyrexian Dominus's, Myojin, and stuff like Doomed necromancer and Yawgmoth. Favorite secret tech is if you proliferate indestructible counters, Leech Bonder + Tazri can distribute them to any creatures you want. Also Necrotic Ooze with any dominus and a myojin in grave is really fun. Also Kindred Boon gives divinity counters for the old myojin.
definitely, my reason for following. no other channel has inspired deck ideas like demos does. almost a love-hate feeling at this point because I got over 100 decks in the planning stages now lmao
GOD DAMN HELL YES DEATHLEAPER BABY, I absolutely love my ball lightning tribal commander, I love riot, I LOVE SNEAK ATTACK AND I LOVE VEDALKAN ORREY, I never one ever THOUGHT about Faldorn and suspend! the whole deck has just changed I love it
If you haven't checked them out already, I think creatures with the dash ability would also work great! They're usually not very powerful, but they bounce themselves back into your hand so they can enter the battlefield again, therefore getting double strike again!
My lgs runs an edh budget league and because of a previous video where you mentioned Arwen I built her and I'm really happy with it. Love to see her getting more attention.
Arwen was one of the first commanders I put into my commander cube (which has a lot of counter synergies). One of the reasons to include her was her uniqueness.
My favourite tech for commanders like Deathleaper or Samut is cards with the dash ability! There usually not veru powerful on their own, but the ability gives them haste then bounces them back to your hand at the end of turn so they can enter the battlefield again!
I friggin love Samut Vizier of Naktamun. It is *such* a fun commander. You just play creatures and turn them sideways and then play more creatures and over and over. It's one of my favorite decks to play, and surprisingly good.
Fun idea for a Commander that I intend to build: Bruna, Light of Alabaster Mill - both yourself AND everyone. You mill your enchantments, attack/block with her to recur them, and have mill as a creeping win con to use against people.
A less fringe/obscure way to build Yurlok is instead of building around the mana burn, you build around cards that let you keep mana in your mana pool. Lots of that in red and green, especially. Think Ashling Flame Dancer, Omnath Locus of Mana, anything you can do to keep mana cycling around your board or an outlet to spend it. That way even when Yurlok isn't on the field you're still putting out lots of mana that you can hang on to until you need it.
Giving a lux artillery lifelink would be silly. There's a few ways to turn noncreature artifacts into creatures with green. But Reaver Titan with lifelink would be nutty lol
Was cooking up an experience counter deck and Azlask was the commander I came to. Not sure if I'll actually put it to paper, but maybe eventually. Seems fun
damn, gotta make two more decks now lol. love these ideas. I actually thought about making an all experience counters deck before but I'm definitely interested in your yurlok and lifelink Lands ideas
I actually made a Yurlock deck with a few of those cards. Feral Hydra is an example, and I do have a hydra subtheme in the list to somewhat reliably dump my own mana
I love the Yurlok idea, but there are really only like 4-5 cards that do this effect which work for this playstyle. I love it, but I'm not sure what else to pile in a list.
4:00 sadly it's on Reserveed List, but you could animate Cursed Scroll somehow as well and then put that counter on it :D Mortart Pod and lots of creature tokens works as well :;D 8:00 Riftsweeper and blinking/flickering it works well too :D 13:43 "Rukarumel" could be wild here :D
@edhdeckbuilding Just wanted you to know about Flubs, The Fool. You made a video a while ago talking about cards without homes and I saw people putting Shared Fate into Flubs. That's all!
Instead of loot now with the bloom burrow spoilers you have “Flubs, the fool” ! Temur You may play an additional land on each of your turns “Whenever you play a land or cast a spell draw a card if you have no cards in your hand. Otherwise discard a card” 0/5 Frog scout
I built Yurlok as a Group Hug / Group Slug deck, trying to give people resources and then punishing them for how many resources they have, focusing on anti-nonbasic land tech. This way it's not too dependent on having Yurlok in play, as he becomes more of an enabler. I never know when to play the deck though - it can't really compete at higher power levels and I don't want to punish lower-power decks too much.

I put arwen in a 5c Myojin deck to proliferate and move indestructible counters around to spam the Myojin abilities 😂
@@GraysonFink-i3v same but in Denry Klin 😉

That yurlok idea is so cool
For loot if you are going for the discard, Flubs the fool really works well too
i’d say he’s even better
@@marvingreat2826 true, loot might better in the 99 if Flubs is the Commander
i havent put loot in any of my decks. I think im sliding him in that Flubs deck.

Use wheels too. I put a windfall in my bruna deck and suddenly She got twice bigger.

Heck yeah glad someone else had the experience counter tribal idea
There's a legendary Song of Creation (essentially) in Bloomburrow (spoiler alert / could be false leak) called Flubs, the Fool
I've always enjoyed the 5 Unique Builds series, but I think these are some the most interesting and fun ideas yet!
Lightmine Field would be hilarious in the Arwen deck.
Hero complex yurlock is a really cool idea. Dude!
Was cooking up an experience counter deck and Azlask was the commander I came to. Not sure if I'll actually put it to paper, but maybe eventually. Seems fun
Man I love these
Your "thinking outside the box" commander builds are my favorite
already have my next one planned.
Timestamps would be great here.
For Arwen, I'd go with Karma and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth.
I like the Yurlok deck idea. Very unique.
Very good video. 5th idea is dope

Dang! and the yurlock cards~ been trying to put together a list for him for years
That chaos deck looks like so much fun
Song of creation is One of the key cards in my tomb raider Deck. So good and definitely an overlooked card
War’s Toll in Yurlok and watch everybody squirm. 😂
I can totally see the 'Monger' creature type returning in a "Eat the Rich"-style set.

untappers
"Capricopian" is a nice one
Suspend creatures have haste permanently, not until end of turn. (though they lose haste if another player gains control of them)
How do you not mention Aetherflux Reservoir in the Arwen discussion?!
Screw an Ancient Tomb
Idk man there’s like 22,000 cards. Things get missed sometimes.
Hold up, I'm gonna need you to talk about your azorius lands deck - I also have an azorius lands deck and I'm constantly looking for help lol
You can run Urborg, tomb of Yawgmoth + Karma in this deck and then give Karma lifelink. :D
4:00 sadly it's on Reserveed List, but you could animate Cursed Scroll somehow as well and then put that counter on it :D Mortart Pod and lots of creature tokens works as well :;D

@edhdeckbuilding Just wanted you to know about Flubs, The Fool. You made a video a while ago talking about cards without homes and I saw people putting Shared Fate into Flubs. That's all!
My Azlask deck is colorless creature token maker, with spells that can turn them into all creature types and just annihilate for win
I added Azlask in my Morophon Maskwood Nexus deck as a finisher - hopefully it works!
Arwen, Mortal Queen and put the lifelink counter on a Aetherflux Reservoir after turning it into a Artifact Creature.
Is that A Hero A Fake to your left?
you bet

Arwen is a truly unique commander that somehow doesn't have that many decks to her name (via edhrec).
Don't forget to like the video, guys. I admit, I forget it all the time.
16:21 too bad Mintharas buff kills ezuri exp
Sorrow's path with arwen??? Yeah... yeah????
Aren’t these builds monolith builds?
Deathleaper is great in my Halana & Alena deck, especially when I flash it in before damage is dealt,
A couple suggestions to consider for Loot if anyone is going the discard route: Library of Leng and Sundial of the Infinite
I have a deathleaper deck! Its all ball lightnings and hasters to go bonk bonk! What youre talking about sounds stupid and garbage
First!😂
