Thank you so much, I'm 72 and just getting started in astronomy. There is a lot to understand and put into practice; your videos have been a fantastic help.

      Thanks for the kind words!
I’ll be turning 72 in about a month. Don’t feel my age yet but I know the day is coming…

    important argument
ask , is it fair to say
that given a pair of binoculars, for example a 7x50, "the REAL field of view" can vary due to the eyepieces used or
the value of "the REAL field of view", as I think, is INDEPENDENT of the eyepiece, but depends exclusively on the objective of the binoculars?

next topic maybe, could you in your way explain a little about filters

      Leo,
Considering how long I’ve been at this hobby, it might surprise you to know that I actually don’t have much experience using filters. The only ones I’ve really used are a 13% moon filter and a broadband ultra high contrast light pollution filter. Since I’m not into serious astrophotography I have never used any of the narrow-band filters designed to pass light from emission nebulae. As for planetary filters, I’ve always been happy with what I’ve been able to see without colored filters. I could do a video on filters, but all I would be doing would be passing on what I’ve read or heard from others, so you would be better served to find other TH-cam videos or other sources that can inform you directly about filters.

Hi…a suggestion….your talking voice would be also good to listen to….please consider making a podcast to get more followers….your videos must be appreciated by beginners 😊🔭❤️

Thanks for the kind words and the suggestion. Unfortunately my wife and I own a small business and I’m currently putting in 55-60 hours per week. With that and the TH-cam channel and trying to get out a couple of nights a week for observing I’ve got about all I can handle right now☹️

Got my Gazer fix! Do you prefer moon and planets or deep sky stuff?

I actually enjoy viewing all the different objects. Not sure I have a preference, but if I had to choose I would probably pick DSOs because of the variety and the greater challenge of viewing and imaging.
