Actually, the 111 never had any official name, by the U.S. Air Force at least. It was always called the Aardvark by the people who flew and maintained them. I'm lucky that I count myself among them. I was at RAF Lakenheath from 1989-1991, and I will always count the Aardvark as my most favorite aircraft to work on... even though they were nightmares sometimes.

Um the RAF never used the F-111 they thought about using it and that model is called the F-111 K the RAAF used it instead.
the RAAF never had the K variant; only the C and G variants. I remember regularly seeing them flying around RAAF Amberley as a kid ^.^
