  • Today we installed a K&N Drop-In Performance Air Filter Upgrade into the 2023 FL5 Civic Type R! Since no SKU has been created for this car yet, we used an air filter designed for the 2013 Acura MDX because they are identical in size! Thanks @USA_028 for sharing this cool news!

    I have a boost blue civic hatch but I love how the FL5 in boost blue looks. Interested to see exhaust upgrades in the future to give a little more noise

      I was never a huge fan of how any FK8 exhaust sounded, but AWE or HKS would be my go-to

    Would like to see side by side comparison of FL5 & FK8 and your take on them.

    • @BuyYourBuild
      @BuyYourBuild  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Having owned a FK8 prior to this, I definitely appreciate the new luxury/better tech in the FL5. The yellow FK8 definitely attracted a lot more attention, but the boost blue does too in a more mature way haha.

    HELLO, WHAT IS THE FILTER CODE SO I CAN BUY IT?

  • @swissactiontv5128
    @swissactiontv5128 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Some People stating, that the K&N Filters oil would go into the MAF Sensor and makes it dirty, not sure if that is true, but would be interessting to know and better you keep an eye on the MAF sensor, if it gets dirty later.

    • @madbikes
      @madbikes ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is not only a K&N thing. The side of the MAF sensor where air hits the probe will always get dirty over time.

    Do a intake system upgrade on one of your cars If you haven't already.

  • @JamessLuner-wi2qs

    Hey man those k&n filters dont filter nearly as well as the stock filter letting in a lot more abrasive particulates which will lead to turbo and engine wear over time.

    • @BuyYourBuild
      @BuyYourBuild  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Define “a lot”. Ran this filter for 20k miles and oil analysis comes back clean every time.

    how much HP do you think this adds?

  • @DynamiteDB
    @DynamiteDB ปีที่แล้ว

    Apparently your not supposed to redline nor go over 4000 RPM for the first 600 miles once you get the car. Did Honda tell you anything like that and did you break it in at all, or did you just start driving the car how you wanted to?

    • @BuyYourBuild
      @BuyYourBuild  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No break in for me! Drive it hard once oil is up to temp after the first 100 miles

  • @eutanasio31

    Good video but ouch.. RIP break in period

    • @BuyYourBuild
      @BuyYourBuild  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! I don't believe in a specific mileage break-in period unless it's a brand new built engine from a shop. I've done enough stop and go/mixed highway/city driving within the 350 miles to break in the clutch and other drive components. Once the engine oil is up to operating temp I full send!

    • @Hondatech371
      @Hondatech371 ปีที่แล้ว

      No such thing as a break in period, HPJ tracked his car with 300 miles. Last month Honda came here to Sonoma raceway to track some brand new TYPE R’s.

    • @BuyYourBuild
      @BuyYourBuild  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Hondatech371 I see people posting pics of their 600 mile odometer "broken in!" and I'm over here redlining it with 20 miles on it lol
