Ah. That reminds me of the awesome online mode and how everyone understands eachother in their tactics and rejoice to repel the boss. two people stay back on the ship and keep firing at it, as two people go ahead and repel it by foot. Nothing beats seeing you with an ally run towards this boss with drawn weapons in a giant desert.
Tbh I can't beat it solo till this day it's like the game is forcing me to play with my friends
Used to hunt the shit out of Jhen because of the music and how fun using the dragonator was. Especially when you hit him with it in the final showdown and Proof of a hero would start playing.
Gods was that fight so much fun, I remember making all his armor and weapons stuff too from all the hunts I did
Same. but it was kinda annoying in Tri cause it was like a event battle so you had to wait for it to appear to kill him. and It was Multi player only... At least in Tri-U you can fight him either solo or single player so that made it better. and he was a normal fight, not just event
Weapon Smith, Brynjar I remember it having a normal multiplayer hunt in the higher ranks when I was playing it... I do remember there was an event version of it, but I swear there was another... :o

I love fighting Jhen Mohran. Half an hour of pure fun during an Epic Battle.
just found out that the composer for this soundtrack (Tadayoshi Makino) also did the soundtrack for dragons dogma also one of my favorite games so now i have a new found respect for both these games and the composer, awesome.
Yes, his work ( especially for 3/3U) is fantastic. I wish they would've used him more for World's soundtrack.
you could tell, one of Dragon's Dogma's OST "Dark Bishop" sound similar to Jhen Mohran's 2nd theme
MAN i'm a mh fan and playing dragon dogma right now. When I heard the boss theme in dragon dogma it immediatelly remembered jhen theme. I thought this was a reference but now I'm happy it's the same guy because dragon dogma ost is really good
well, both are by capcom, so it makes sense they'd share a composer
The transition from this to Proof of a Hero is amazing.

When I finally reached this part all I could say was THIS was why I got this game. Loved every minute of this battle.
The epicness here was amazing, You need to take it down one way or another, if you fail, everybody fails, Thats the beauty of giant monsters, Theya re a threat to the city or the villages

It was twelve years ago from this exact day, me and a few old friends of mine took this quest thinking it to be another slash and bag quest, it wasn’t until we got on the boat and I gotta say… we took that beast down like it took our boat.
i love when you hit the dragonator in this part, the music gets super epic, I LOVE THIS GAME

And yes... I was killed... Jhen Moran smashed me... hell...I have bad luck with smashin attacks like the Uragan or the Jhen Moran...
As of writing this, there are no dislikes. Someone must have repelled the Jhen away from the dislike button.

this second theme is far more epic especially when its your first time and you run with all your strength back to the ship and you are like go go go go go go lol

My only question, where is that music track that plays when you hit jhen with the dragonator in phase 2? You know where you hit it and those trumpets start playing and it sounds so freaking amazing it gives you goosebumps hearing it. That moment where you know you're going to own this thing.
This, tbh it was at the final showdown, where me and my friends composure would start cracking. I think I speak for alot of people when I say this is my fondest memory of gaming, ever.

Epic tracks seriously but I think they should of switched them around as this track is fast paced just like the first phase with Jhen pursuing after you and part 1 feels like it should be played during phase 2 due to the slow nature of both the track and the fight with jhen slowly but surely working his way towards you

it's amazing because I was so enthralled with MH3 and that was before I grew up a bit more and went from being dumb to being smort
4 humans vs. a gigantic dragon that slowly comes towards you... this has to be the most epic fucking thing ever made in a game. Next to Duke Nukem.
funny thing is i just found out he was a mountain dragon i was like WTF for a mountain dragon he's fuckin rape
@DefensiveOffender Their bringing back all the weapons, giving a few of the monsters some subspecies, and also adding a new monster. He throws exploding goo everywhere. Plus their keeping the swimming and not to mention adding the plesioth and his subspecies.
@MarcusRaybrandt1993 binder is meant to cancel his attacks
and you use the gong in part 2 when he is about to belly flop the dragon ship he will tip over so you can place the dragon bombs in his mouth and his mouth is insanely weak to impact and slice damage

God I've missed this series. I've played to offline to death on MH3, and I can't access the online, so I'm thinking of giving it to a friend to experience such a great game. I did miss the Khezu, though. Anyway, has anyone heard about MH4 for the new DS or MH3G (or whatever it's called) that are coming out soon? What new additions are coming with MH3G?

Furthermore, they're adding a new Elder Dragon, Guran Muraosu, or something like that...
Basically, it moves like Fatalis minus flying, is basically a living volcano, and is fought on land AND in water. From the videos I've seen, he hits every bit as hard as Fatalis can, with his Snap & Drag attack able to take out hunters in a single hit.

@OrbVideo that happened to me, cept it was about 2 minutes left, i fucking swear i was the only compitent hunter there. and someone stayed in the damn things mouth too long after i knocked it over with the gong.

Part 2 just sounds like maybe you're turning the tide of the battle. Not nearly as ominous and intimidating as part 1 and not nearly as "onward to victory" as part 3. You still have your opponent the elder dragon to contend with.

We failed this part of the battle. We were so close to winning :/ Someone fainted, and that was the last continue. There was 30 seconds left anyway.

For some reason whenever I climb on the back of Jhen Mohran I can picture shadow of the colossus music coming on XD This music is still just as awesome though

@strangerworksright lol yeah, i killed the event solo in like 14:54, you just need to know what the fuck your doing and you need to have a weapon with dragon status thats over 300 and attack thats over 800 (and yes it is possible)
More interesting then the Ceadeus fight.
But still just a big pinata.
Don't get me wrong, your team has to be on the ball the hole fight, he has truckloads of health.
