I really want this set, MAN this is probably the absolute best value train set and certainly best starter train set there ever was. 9 car train, powerful good locomotive, and plenty of track to start. If anyone wants to get into the hobby, THIS and the Empire Builder in N scale are THE SETS to get.
Excellent video. Really lets me see the detail and wether or not to decide if I want this type of train set for myself. I’ve been all over the place with these train models from HO to N scale, but I think I’m gonna get this set seeing how detailed of a review you did on this train set. Thank you very much world of trains and other!
I just got this set and I’m looking forward to testing out the locomotive. I should also say that it’s a set that I’ve wanted for a very long time now.
I lucked out i think, I picked up this set at an antique Mall 5 years ago in Roseville CA for 10 whole dollars!!!! Just missing 3 pieces of track. The couplers are different than what is shown, don't look like these knuckle couplers more of a horizontal "L" configuration.
@@Bolly650 I was stunned when I told the seller there was "some track missing" and she said ok how about $10! The Locomotive is at Bachman repair cost $39 for teh repair service!
Expensive set for what you get in my personal opinion. Your better off buying a kato set or track plus an engine. But a good price for being a steam locamotive in n scale
I always hated how Bachmann uses all metal wheels on their n scale sets, but on their ho scale sets they use plastic wheels on the cars and tenders, its so lame.
17:16 Why are you doing that, ass ? !! Why don't you just get it railed, coupled, and run it and see how it is without you molesting it first ? ! ! And you have a re-railer already right there on the curve where you plugged it in !! And why are you backing it up so fast ??! Back it slow and see if it derails !! Geez !!
We have the "real Deal" sitting 8 miles from me restored and waiting to run the Mainline Albuquerque to Lamy New Mexico, if they can get the insurance they're negotiating on that from what I'm told. Yep and it's an AT&SF locomotive. It's cousin is sitting in a park in Kingman AZ, non operational.

Why would you hold the train and apply full power? Good way to brake the drive line.
U could say the same if it was running on the track I do that all the time with my trains and they work perfectly
To test their will to live. Why would you want a train that breaks when you hold the train...
I just might get this one! I need a discount though!
He did the same thing to the HO version!. I gave up watching.

Once you Purchace the Train The Couplers May be Getting changed.
Yeah, Bachmann couplers aren't exactly known for being reliable, especially in HO scale.
@@randallellison6421 i have that problem I have one of the Hawthorne village sets and they arnt the best lol
Those are very small train tracks!
What’s with the gloves??
Funny they call it The Empire Builder. That's was the Great Northern RR name.
instablaster.
Sometime in the 1970's, Bachmann released this set with a Great Northern 4-8-4, and I think they also did a Burlington (CB&Q) 4-8-4.

I would like to know, what did you do witj your 63 trains
So like in Kato the switches when the switch to one the other side has no power. Can bachmann do that too?
I always hated how Bachmann uses all metal wheels on their n scale sets, but on their ho scale sets they use plastic wheels on the cars and tenders, its so lame.
And nickel silver track on n scale but for ho steel track
Yeah, but you can replace them though
Harika çok güzel böyle bir set nasıl teymin edebiliriz tşk
Los trenes son fabulosos de todo tipo pero en mi opinion los de vapor son mucho mejor y sus videos son relajantes e informativo
How much $ ? Sound? Great looking, Bachmann has come along way since the 1850 when they started making things.
I think it’s in 200-300 dollar range.
The only problem I have with the set is the tracks they are hard to put together

letting the train run against your finger is one good way to ruin the motor

@@mariadejesusnunezrosal7494 what
Well aren't the wheels slipping? I understand that too much strain on the motor is bad but if the wheels keep moving it should be mostly fine.

Not recommended for any model train. Why would anyone do that?
i think hornby is better than bachmann, due to the fact that ho scale trains got plastic wheels, which is apparently not really good for the track
